My family's opinion of the food was a resounding "Eh..." it would be two stars, but I personally thought it was a pretty average meal, so I'm bumping it to three.
The square pizzas look nice when you get them. The crust is somewhat thick, and the bottom crust is something like you would expect on a loaf of supermarket white bread. Soft, smooth. No real texture. Sort of like Papa Johns. The flavor is pretty good. There's a bit of spice, which I think is in the sauce. Speaking of the sauce, it's one of those chunky sauces oh, so if you don't like chunks of tomato, it's not for you. I personally prefer a more homogeneous sauce, but I can live with this one as well. The cheese they top of the pizzas with tastes pretty good, and had a pretty decent pull. Where it really loses points is how skimpy they are with the toppings. The pizzas are cut into large slabs, as opposed to small squares. Each slab had two small pepperonis on it. You could barely tell it was even a pepperoni pizza.
The breadsticks were mediocrity Defined. Bland, tough. But not particularly offensive.
Mediterranean fried cheese is weird. I don't know if I liked it, or didn't.
Stromboli was decent, but a bit overdone. Not bad though. But they say the difference between a stromboli and a calzone is that the Stromboli has no sauce. That is NOT the proper distinction between the two.
Meet moussaka was overpriced and absolutely average.
We enjoyed the cannolis though. Quite good. The shell was crisp without being too tough, and the feeling was not overly sweet.
All said and done, I doubt we'll be back. For the price, West Main...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try Red Seal despite the 3.6 rating. We both agreed it was one of the better restaurants we have gone to.
The atmosphere: It was very comfortable. We didn't feel rushed or out of place even though it was our first time. The background music wasn't overpowering and relaxing over our light conversation.
The service: We walked in and the server immediately headed our direction to greet us and show us to our table. She was very friendly and courteous at all times. She was also very attentive for drink refills and answered questions we had about menu items.
The food: While they have plenty of menu items, we each ordered Calzones. The crust was very soft, unlike other pizzerias we have gone to. They were delicious. We were served about 20 minutes from from when we ordered, right after we finished our house salads.
*I admit this was our first visit, but everything was above expectations and we do plan to order and try some other dishes on their menu.
Overall, definitely earns the stars for service, atmosphere, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the food and pricing. Being located at the Mall, I expected much higher pricing, but is comparing to places like Applebees, Chili's, and The...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience at this pizza restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone. First of all, it took over an hour for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant was completely empty. It was extremely frustrating to see other customers who arrived after us receive their meals before we did.
To make matters worse, the strobing lights in the restaurant caused me to feel nauseous and sick. It was such an unpleasant experience that I could barely even eat my food once it finally arrived.
On top of all this, the restaurant had a very dirty feeling in general. The tables and floors were sticky and the overall atmosphere was not inviting.
To add insult to injury, it took about 5 minutes to even get seated. The staff seemed completely disorganized and not at all concerned about the terrible experience we were having.
Overall, the terrible service, dirty environment, and strobing lights made it an experience I will never forget - and not in a good way. Save your money and avoid this place...
