The bathrooms are terrible, they need to be cleaned more often. Every time I went in there it smelled horrid. Also the food is pretty bad, they need to have some better choices, it seems like all they had there was just junk food.
Putting those two factors aside, I would say the actual rink and skates were the best! The floor is nicely polished and the rental skates were kept up with really well. They had good quality wheels that roll smoothly. And I must say I really loved all the cool disco lights they have that make different patterns and designs on the floor. I come to this roller rink a lot and overall I can say they play good music, but some of the time it's not so good. The skatemate thing for little kids was a really good idea for this place because it's a good way to help little kids learn how to skate while bringing in more money. But for some people, attracting all those small kids with skatemates is a bad thing, since some people are experienced skaters kids can often get in the way. I honestly think they need to use the boarder patrol more often instead of telling fast skaters to slow down(it is fun to watch good skaters do tricks and stuff). I understand that they don't want advanced skaters crashing into tiny kids and hurting them, so that's why they should use the boarder patrol more often. Cuz let's be truthful here, a beginner skater will skate a few feet then fall down, they don't need the whole rink to skate in because they can't go very far that fast. And if those beginner skaters are on the floor falling every 5 minutes they will just get in the way for other people. So I think it would benefit both sides if new skaters stayed behind the boarder patrol until they learn how to skate better. If that happens then i'm sure this place would feel safer letting advanced skaters skate their normal speed instead of telling them to slow down. Experienced skaters want to skate fast and they get upset when told to skate slow for the whole time they are there, my friends tell me its like trying to jog a mile but being forced to walk- it takes longer and it becomes boring. Also, what customer matters more -the advanced skater that comes back twice every week or a little kid that comes every month? Wouldn't you want to please the customer that comes more often, rather than someone who just comes once or twice a year? And besides that, whats this thing about charging for both sessions if you come before 5:00 p.m and are staying to 10:30? It makes people feel like you just want more money and therefore makes them reluctant to decide to go at all. Though I do understand wanting to discourage fast skaters to come before 5 cuz in the morning is when all the kids come. Still, it gets on people's nerves if they have to pay extra just for a few of hours more. I also wanted to say this skating rink is awesome because if you go there a lot after a while the people at the skate counter remember your size and what type of skate you want. I don't even have to tell them anything, I just give them my shoes and they automatically know what skate size I am.
Those are all the issues I wanted to address, thank you for taking the time to read this. (:
p.s. writing this for my friends that are sick and tired of being told to skate slow and want to express their...
Read moreWe hosted a party for our daughters at dairy afford roller rink today, and it was truly one of the worst experiences weâve had at a business that claims to be family friendly. What was meant to be a fun and special day quickly turned into a stressful and upsetting ordeal due to the staffâs rude behavior, poor management, and complete lack of customer service. From the beginning, the staff was unwelcoming and rude to multiple guests. One child arrived wearing a comfort boot (not medically required), was given rental skates, and skated safely for about 15 minutes. Suddenly, he was told he could no longer skate due to the boot, despite the clear âSkate at Your Own Riskâ signage. When his mother explained the situation and noted the boot was not medically necessary, the manager refused to listen, refused a refund, and offered no accommodation. Instead, she selectively enforced policies while ignoring others. Like the âNo Refundsâ rule being followed strictly, but the âSkate at Your Own Riskâ sign being disregarded. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and security was called to remove guests from our daughterâs party. These were family members (grandparents and father) who were trying to understand the rules and advocate for their children. However, the manager decided to pick and chose what rules she wanted to enforce and simply was difficult. To make matters worse, a parent of a late arriving guest was harshly scolded at the door with âTHE PARTY ALREADY STARTED!âThis was completely uncalled for and rude!! They walked in and told me how uncomfortable they were for the moment they got there. Another guest tried to use a free skate voucher for their 2-year-old and was told it wasnât valid. When the mother privately vented to her husband using a mild curse word, which made the manager refuse to let their child skate or even allow me, the host, to purchase a ticket on their behalf. The managerâs behavior throughout the day was unnecessarily aggressive, dismissive, and, frankly, unprofessional. She even stated, âI donât get paid enough for this,â while continuing to escalate tensions rather than resolving them. Ironically, we were warned not to use foul language on the premises because itâs a âfamily business,â yet the music played over the speakers included multiple songs with explicit language and sexual content directly using the word s3x Overall, the management was inconsistent, unaccommodating, and on a power trip. What should have been a joyful celebration turned into an uncomfortable and chaotic experience for our children and guests. We will not be returning and strongly recommend others think twice before booking a party or...
Read moreSaturday, March 14, 2021 I did not have problems with the staff because they were very nice and helpful, also they did sanitize the equipment I rented. I reccomend bringing your own hand sanitizer though (which should already be a given, even pre COVID. Do not use the sanitizer they provide at the ticket counter and prize area... I felt it would be faster to use theirs than to use mine and boy, was that a mistake! It leaves a gross thick film on your hands. I felt like my hands were a bacteria magnet. I didn't dare to use their bathroom to wash my hands. Judging by what I have seen so far and the long line of unsupervised children, I felt safer out by the rink. My 2 main concerns were their lack of rule enforcement and their mask enforcement. After you pay for your ticket and walk in you are immediately greeted by maskless skaters skating at full speed nearly knocking or running into people in the food, prize and seating areas. Areas where skating is NOT allowed. COMPLETE CHAOS. About 78% of the customers had masks on and about 30% of the 78% wore it below their nose or chin. There were maskless people coughing and not covering their mouth. Not acceptable. The skate rental lines are not properly manged as they allow people to sit in the line and put their skates on instead of telling them to leave the skate rental area. Entire families are blocking the lines! The rink was very crowded and even though the employees told the skaters to slow down or to not sit on the rink floor they were ignored. Inexperienced skaters were constantly being knocked down by careless skaters traveling at high speeds. A child fell down (about 10 yrs old?) and must of twisted her ankle because she began crying out loud but no parental figure came to check on her. An employee, who also runs the DJ booth(and who I saw also helping in the skating rental area) immediately attended to her. There were A LOT of unsupervised children everywhere. Very dangerous. Floors(carpet) were not maintained. I believe its because it was incredibly packed. The food area is disgusting. Needless to say, we did not stay there long, which is sad because it was my daughter's very first time going to a skating rink and we were super excited. As I was leaving, which was about 30 minutes later, I saw the same little girl who had fallen down earlier in a wheelchair speaking to a police officer. No parent around. I felt so incredibly dirty that as soon as we got home we had to remove our clothes at the door and take an...
