Don't y'all be missing out on these boss eats, y'all! I was in the neighborhood and stopped in for lunch and got the Mad Box. It's Taiwanese style batter fried chicken cutlets with fries and pickled onions with Sriracha mayo dip.
Can I get a YUM!
The chicken came out piping hot and juicy. The crust had its own spicy subtle flavoring and you cannot ignore the crunch. It's such a crunchy crust! It stayed crunchy too.The mayo gave it a creaminess and the Sriracha was a variant flavor of spice.
The fries were unusually good too which was unexpected. They also had the perfect crisp on the outside with just enough meatiness inside.
I usually love a pickled side as the acidity and fermentation perfectly offsets the rich meal, but the flavoring of the pickled onions could use some tweaking. But the onions maintained a great crunch to them as well and that's not easy to do.
I was expecting just an ordinary meal but this was extraordinary. Everything was perfectly seasoned.
So despite the odd warehouse seating, I will be back and back and back. This food as takeout, kicking back at home with wine would...
Read moreWARNING: if you have peanut allergies, please say so. There were no indications anywhere on the menu at the time of my visit, but my meal had crushed peanuts in it.
This place was having a soft open when i went, so things probably won't stay the same, but overall I think it has potential. I ordred the BBQ Chicken w vermicelli and the Pan Fried Dumplings. I will say that as a southerner i was expecting there to be bbq sauce slathered on the chicken, but it actually refered to the style of cooking, my bad entirely. The chicken was good, though the noodles didn't have much taste on their own. The sauce provided was great however and did most of the heavy lifting. The dumplings however were BUSSIN.
I would say for the price everything is right so far, though i'll either edit or post a new review the next time i go
A note just for the store: The sauces I was given were in little 2go cups but only filled a quarter up. You might want to either downsize the cups or start...
Read moreRecently ordered the Grilled Pork Banh Mi with no Garlic Butter (Dietary preference) and was provided with a complimentary chicken broth soup that was very refreshing and not too salty and hit the spot. Probably my new favorite restaurant in the area!
The location is relatively new and the interior is well kept and very simplistic which is a refreshing scene as sometimes I find it hard to focus on the food when there are all sorts of colors and items on the wall. I am sure with time the space will become more furnished, but I certainly cannot complain about it's current appearance.
The staff were quick to take my order and processed the payment most efficiently and I was in and out in under 15 minutes and able to get back to my office with a whole lunch hour to spare! (Considering I only ordered one sandwich and my office is just across the street) It was still quick and efficient!
Many more meals to be had here.
Thank you,...
