I specifically Google searched best beef shawarma near me and this place came up. After seeing 6 recent good ratings about the beef and chicken shawarma I placed my order online as a first time order. The website said curbside delivery. I got to location and called saying I'm here for my curbside order, the lady says unsure "uhh okay... You gonna come inside?" I said I don't have a mask on me. Then lady says OK I will leave it outside. She walks out the door and comes out restaurant and places to go bag outside then walks back into the restaurant. No greeting of hi, thank you for coming or anything. So defeating the purpose of curbside I had to get out my car and go get my food she put outside. When I got home I see a thin sandwich, nothing like the shawrma I've eaten anywhere else, the meat had a greasy grainy taste to it, it said it came with pickles, tomatoes, red onion and tahini sauce. There was nothing but thin meat on a lukewarm pita bread that was not soft and pillowy but semi toasted. I got the chocolate baklava and it immediately tasted frozen and that's my first time ever eating bad baklava. Never never Again!! $12.78 down the drain. Not a good first impression. I've eaten at several Mediterranean restaurants. This was my...
Read moreI have been to a great deal many Mediterranean restaurants in my life, most of which have been in Dearborn, MI. If you know anything about that area, then you know how large the Arab population is there. This place is just as good or better than them! The hummus is DELICIOUS! My wife and I ate two orders there and took another order home with us. We got both the beef and the chicken shawarma platters and they were equally as delicious. The rice pudding and baklava desserts were fantastic. Overall menu selection is quite vast, so I will definitely be returning and trying other options! My only wish is that this was a larger business! This food deserves to be enjoyed by more and more people, including large parties, but there is not enough room for that many at this time. I do hope business allows them to expand. Seating is 60/40 indoor/outdoor, but it was too cold to go outdoor during our visit.
Some recommendations I have for the owner/operator would be: fresh baked bread for dine-in, an option for a large order of hummus, and some outdoor seating heaters (if you don't already have...
Read moreWe stopped in for a late night bite to eat and saw this little gem was open late. The people and food were a very pleasant surprise. It's a clean, and small cafe with hookahs and outdoor seating.
We ordered a Greek salad, a hot pepper appetizer, and the mixed shawarma plate. My husband and I were very hungry and this was more than enough food. The salad was lightly dressed and had a few lovely chunks of salty feta. The shawarma plate came with fries and bread, so we were able to make little sandwiches with the meat and veggies. I ate all the lamb/beef and hubs stuck with the chicken. It was spiced well and the meat was tender.
We were the only ones I to the restaurant, there were a few people outside smoking hookas. Our food came out fast, and beautifully presented. We were checked on by the waitress and owner a few times throughout the meal and they seemed genuinely interested in our comfort and satisfaction.
I hardly give anything a full 5 stars, but they're definitely going to get an upgrade to a 5 if we go back and receive the same quality and attention. I'll keep...
