Food Town — Local services in Houston

If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. Food Town has been the store I have shopped at for years! YEARS! I shopped there even before it became Food Town, it used to be Food Fair… Anyways, after shopping here just yesterday I was disgusted and honestly annoyed with what this store has come out to be. Disgusted with how management treats their employees. As some of these cashier have been working here for years helping out customers like they’re supposed to, you will 100% not see that from a manager here. I’ve personally have seen them just stand around, on their phones, chit chatting away with some of their younger female staff, and needless to say even playing the lottery! Don't even expect a quick response from a manager in store! A manager won’t even respond to an overhead call quickly like they’re supposed to, making it frustrating to a client to just wait there for more than 10 minutes, you're lucky even if they show up. Like how are you able to call yourself a manager when you aren’t able to manage a store? And this is where my annoyance comes. It is ridiculous how they barely have cashiers up in the front, especially during their rush hours. It honestly feels like you’re waiting at the DMV just to get check out. And this is no blame to the cashiers, it’s the company’s and managers! The company can barely pay them livable wages, and Managers couldn’t care less about helping out with guiding clients to open/short lanes, or even dare to open a register themselves. It’s honestly...

This store always has a problem honoring their prices. I went in on 04/12/19 after being in a fire. The Ozarka water was priced 2 for $1.00 so I brought 4. I went back and they had them 4 for a $1.00 I brought 4 at that time. I went in again ,because there was a storm coming, and since I'm living in an Hotel I thought this will last me at least 3 days. I brought 12 and they charged me $6.00 instead of $3.00. I went by today to get the difference back ,and Mr. Hector Salinas( Unprofessional Manager) stated to me that their sale ends on Wednesday ,and yesterday was Thursday and that he was there all day, and the sign was 2 for $1.00, and he wanted to argue with me behind their mistake of not removing the sign. He called German over who stated he didn't even remember the transaction. I said so because you've changed the price after I shopped you're not going to honor the sale price, and he said he wasn't. I was very disappointed in this store. I shop here all the time, but no more. A product was sitting on the shelf with a price tag of $1.99 (Simply brand watermelon juice). When I went to check out, it wouldn't ring up and I told them it was $1.99. They sent someone to check the price and they came back with a price of $2.77. I told them again that it was sitting with the tag saying $1.99. They sent the manager back and he takes a picture of a shelf tag saying $2.76. They said the lemonade flavor was $1.99. The watermelon was sitting right with the lemonade and there were two tags saying $1.99. I took all the bottles there were of the watermelon, 5 total, and 3 of them were behind the lemonade. I don't appreciate being called a liar over some juice that they had sitting right above a $1.99 tag. It's the principal of the matter.
