I had been a member for over a year. I have been putting off writing this review to see if the management would be reasonable. During the shutdown, my trainer left the gym, and as i was training for a specific purpose and had been with that trainer for a really long time, i was extremely hesitant to just go with another trainer that i had never met that Stone's couldn't provide me with their qualifications right there which they should have. So i asked for my money back. I was told that since i purchased multiple at a time and had already used some so i couldn't get a refund for any of them. I did not go in and say i want to purchase package X. I had said, "hey i want to purchase 4 training sessions with such and such trainer for the month". When I asked if i could use the payment/credit towards anything else (group classes, t shirts, etc) I was denied. I asked to speak with the general manager and explained my position and when I did not want to just go with another random trainer to use my credit; i was screamed at, kicked out of the facility, and my membership was cancelled by the general manager. Not once did i raise my voice or say anything vulgar. I have been emailing them for now over a month to try and get my shutdown credit back since i was unable to apply that to the next month's membership fee and the training credit that they now prevented me from using by cancelling my membership. At first the gym manager was responding and saying he had to pass it on to the general manager (the one the kicked me out). Now they are flat out not responding. The management is extremely unprofessional and rude. I just want what i was...
Read moreMy experience at Stone's gym started out well. I took personal training sessions with John which were nice. Slowly I noticed how some equipments which were out of order never got fixed. Once the women's bathroom was clogged up with a terrible smell but the staff closed and locked it and it didn't get fixed for a couple of weeks. The AC would break from time to time so the management would turn on the fans which weren't helpful in 105 degree summer temperature. The most ridiculous thing about this gym is when you start they lure you in with how they provide the best quality service since they are a family owned business but slowly and surely you will realize how horrible their service is. Once I showed up for a class and the instructor told me, "oh I didn't know you signed up for this class. I have to run an errand so I'm going home." I would never recommend this gym to anyone. At the beginning of my gym membership I was told that I can cancel my membership if I move, but Dylan and Frankie never refunded me for my private training session which I paid for in advance but was never able to take those since I moved another state. The staff at stones gym specially Dylan will never return your call and avoid helping you in any matter once they have received your money. They are extremely professional when it comes to charging you but once their business is finished with you they don't bother returning your phone calls or addressing any issues that you might have. This is a first time I've written a review and only because I wanted to make people like me aware of how horrible...
Read moreRead the latest review and honestly couldn’t wait to share my own experience.
The owner's response really rubbed me the wrong way. It came off as defensive and out of touch probably written by the owners wife who is known to be extremely rude and unprofessional. Not only did they misidentify the person who left the review, but they also twisted the situation completely, likely because of their own personal/political beliefs.
I used to be a member of this gym, and I’ve heard this story firsthand from several current and former members, many of whom ended up leaving because of how management handled this situation. A young guy was aggressively approached and verbally harassed by an older man in the locker room. It got to the point where the younger guy had to defend himself verbally. Even after he tried to walk away, the older man followed him out of the gym still harassing him.
It’s really upsetting to see people in leadership roles let their personal biases cloud their judgment, especially in a situation that should have been taken seriously. I expected better, and honestly, I’m really...
