Buyer Beware!
This past weekend my LED shop light died and as the worksite was just across the street I figured I would save some time and avoid a trip to the big box store.
Knowing that this was an Ace, I was prepared to spend a few extra dollars. I found a floor mounted LED shop light that was indeed over priced for the amount of light is provided, but it was OK.
My surprise when the tag on the shelf read $41 but it scanned at over $120 - good thing I was paying attention!!. The clerk walked back to check the shelf price and then proceeded to check the SKU, which was in itty bitty print, that of course I could not read because my reading glasses were at the worksite. She proclaimed that the $120+ price was correct, it had just been mis-shelved - take it or leave it. I found it interesting that the slot on the shelf was EXACTLY the right size for the box - this was NOT mis-shelved, this was a classic bait and switch - BEWARE !! Needless to say, but I did not purchase the light and WOW she got into a mood because I refused to buy it!!
I ended up making the trip to the bid box store, spent less than the original $41 and obtained a much brighter and much nicer light.
This is not my first poor encounter at this Ace, but it's the first I am posting about. In general this location is poorly stocked, is overpriced and has snitty 16 year old staff with no training.

Read moreI just went to the store on Bay Area and was treated rudely by not only a cashier but by the assistant manager. The store is under construction; therefore, some chaos is understandable and even items incorrectly priced. The problem came when I asked about the pricing and wasn't even acknowledged...instead the cashier just kept ringing up the other items. When I asked her to check the price, she spoke into her mouthpiece and completely ignored me. She was just rude! It was as if I was inconveniencing her. She never one time actually spoke to us. The assistant manager was behind the counter and came over and stated we have signs everywhere stating we are under construction, so the pricing may be wrong. I said I understand; I had asked for the price to be confirmed. Without checking, she said "that is the price." We left the store without a purchase. I called to speak with the Manager the assistant manager, Jess, got on the phone. She talked over me and would not even let me explain what I was frustrated about. Still waiting to hear from the manager. This is sad as this store has been around a long time and a local favorite of ours. I hear it's under new management; I hope this ends well. If not, a long-time customer has...
Read moreThis visit was not what I expected with my 50% off mailer coupon for this Black Friday 2020 only. I needed a log splitter and I found one. The only one 36” axe by FISKRS available. Sold to me by employee Izabelle with a header of SALE on my receipt. My experience during two days of Black Friday into the weekend here was if you ask the teenage cashiers a question about stock, they generally will only say I don’t know, rather than call a manager for assistance on their two way radios. So with a 50% coupon the computer chose the higher price of two prices in their database. Listed as item 7365927 for $39.99. Sold as Regular price for 54.99. No sale markers or sale signs at the axe rack. One row towards the middle aisle looking at the post office window has aisle items listed above in boards. The other direction does not have any aisle aids, by the main items listed. See my photos.
2nd negative energy here. The reduced price was only $15.00 off this ACE coupon probably because of the corporate fine print on the mailer but not actually on the coupon. IDK but I do know that after tax on this total item was $43.29. There is Hardly no savings here at this...
