I went to Top Care ER on 5/14 , day 3 of experiencing extreme headaches, debilitating neck and back pain, chest pain, I can had fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. My ribs hurt to the touch, my blood pressure was extremely high, and my resting heart rate was over 130 (it is normally in the high 40's). The nurse who initially saw was great, she asked me a lot of questions and relayed additional information to the Doctor. When the Doctor came in (pregnant female- cant remember her name at the moment), I explained to her that in the last week I was prescribed multiple new supplements and a new dose of Cytomel, which is T3 thyroid hormone and I was worried that was the issue. She ran a viral panel, and CMP, and a CBC, NO THYROID PANEL!! She gave me toradol and fluids. She came back asking only how my headache was. I told her it went from a 9 to a 7 (due to the toradol). I told her I still was not feeling well. She still discharged me with no further instruction. When the nurse came in afterwards, I was sobbing, telling her how terrible I felt and that I was scared. Luckily, she seemed to care about me as a patient more than the Doctor and advised me to leave and either go to a Hospital or see a neurologist. I took her advise. Luckily, I was confident enough in my self diagnosis that I stopped taking all thyroid meds and supplements. I finally had a full thyroid panel done after 6 days of thinking I was dying. I was in complete thyroid toxicosis/ thyroid storm, and my Doctor thinks I possibly had a heart attack on Tuesday due to the hyperthyroidism. ( side note: I am 32 and very healthy otherwise). This could have KILLED me. If she had run a thyroid panel, which she should have with the information given to her), I could've been treated for this 4 days sooner. I am now on beta blockers to slow my heart rate, having regular appointments to get physically assessed and have to see a cardiologist to find out what damage this did on my heart. Long story long, If you feel you are actually having an emergency, DO NOT GO HERE! They do the absolute bare minimum work-up and the Doctor treated me like I was being dramatic/ hysterical and acted like she was annoyed to be treating me. The only good thing I can say about this facility is that my nurse was a gem. She should be working somewhere else, she's better than Top Care.
TOP CARE- this is medical negligence. You are going to end up with someone dying and...
Read moreIf you are a Veteran, DO NOT use this Medical Facility. We called in advance due to a pregnancy issue and a legitimate medical emergency, was assured that CHAMP VA was an approved insurance source because "We accept all major insurances" and was told to come in. Came in, was promptly seen, gave my Veterans Affairs health care identification. Fast forward 6 months, this company has completely disregarded the VA's medical billing process multiple times and has sent us multiple bills after being paid out by our insurance.
I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT use this company if you are a Veteran in need. They will NOT help you, and will only harass you with billing. We have paid out balances through our insurance and our of pocket as requested, and they keep claiming we owe money and have sent us to collections. Absolute nightmare.
Dealing with the emotional distress of a pregnancy loss is excruciating as it is. I wish we would have never came to this location. I cannot stress this again, if you are a Veteran with CHAMP VA, Tricare or any DOD funded insurance. DO NOT use this place. If they claim they care about Veterans and their Family needs. It is a lie. I repeat. DO NOT use this place. I cannot stress this enough.
Edit: On second thought, if you are pregnant in general. I recommend going somewhere else. This business should not be dealing with pregnant women in their time of need as they have clearly demonstrated a lack of basic competency and understanding of medical billing. If you need further amplifying info, read some other reviews below mine of people in similar situations. I have contacted the VA's Billing and as well as their legal about this harassment and collections, post payment as I'm without...
Read moreI had to rush my life partner to this urgent care due to sudden, severe onset of food poisoning. When i got her there after calling ahead, they were ready with a wheelchair and took her straight back. Jeremy was at the front desk and was so helpful, patient, and understanding that i was a little stressed and scared while trying to get ID and insurance cards squared away and paperwork filled out. During that time, Neil (i hope i used the correct spelling) was taking care of her quickly and efficiently. When i got in the room, he had already given her nausea meds and got an IV started because she was so dehydrated. Long story short, Neil and the doctor on call (sadly i didn't get his name) were kind, prompt, efficient, and informative. Tests were handled quickly and we were given results without delay. Neil communicated with us throughout the visit, and put us both at ease with his cheerful demeanor. They were extremely professional and respectful, but also friendly and engaging. I can't say enough good things about this facility and the staff who helped us tonight. My partner was a different person by the time we left, and felt 100% better, which is saying alot because she looked like death when we got there. She still needs rest and lots of fluids, etc. but the doctor, Neil, and Jeremy really saved the day and provided an outstanding urgent care experience... something rare and priceless these days. I'm eternally grateful for the care they showed both of us. Thanks, you...
