Two of my family members and several patients/long time neighbors living in Maplewood South/Meyerland kept having various pharmacy staff tell them that due to the nationwide shortage of ADHD and regulated medications, they are constantly unable to fill these prescriptions on time or at all. Currently my mother has been delayed for a week so far.
While the nationwide shortage is true, many other Walgreens locations, HEB Meyerland, and CVS at Hillcroft @ N. Braeswood claim they have most medications in stock at all times and are keeping up with high demand. I attributed the shortfall of the problem, specific to the 5300 N. Braeswood location Walgreens, to a failure by the lead pharmacist failing in their duties with medication logistics and purchasing.
IMPORTANT I reached out to some state law enforcement channels and found out that this Walgreens pharmacy location is supposedly under investigation by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) for alleged violations of the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP). It is alleged that staff might be skirting or ignoring certain safety and reporting protocols in order to meet corporate metrics. Schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substances, to include ADHD medications, opioids, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and carisoprodol are apparently constantly out of stock, have been dispensing generic versions using unapproved replacement manufacturers, and have inconsistencies in their 24 hour mandatory dispense reporting to...
Read moreI have been dealing with this Wallgreens for close to 20 years and have had no problems w refilling my prescriptions. The past 6 months have been horrible. My husband is having a problem refilling his diabetes medication. His MD increased the dose and for some reason cannot refill when needed supposedly for insurance reasons. Thus, at times he had to drop the dose. As for me, I am having a problem w my BP medication. Someone put me on a “save a trip program” without my consent. So I picked up my refill and received only 7 pills. Thus, I can only get more pills 1 day before I am all out of BP medication. Moreover, if they have to order from Dallas my refill is delayed 2 days which means I go w/o my BP medication. How is this saving me a trip if I get a supply of one week and then have to request a refill w a “rush” attached and go back after a week for a refill? If this continues I will have no choice to find another pharmacy. I hope Wallgreens take our reviews seriously before someone gets sick because of their mis-management . Their review score...

The night shift pharmacy staff doesn't want to work. I arrived at the drive-through pickup 15 minutes before the pharmacy closed and pressed the call button every few minutes. I could see in through the pickup window and saw the three people working there staying at the sides of the pharmacy, trying to avoid being visible to me. One person crossed sides, being sure to face away from the window and move quickly, which was the only time any one of them moved quickly. Another one almost came to the window, but saw my car and pulled back immediately, so that I only saw a little of her scrubs dodging out of the way. Five minutes after closing time, one of them came to the window and repeated "We closed now" to everything I said and "The computer shut down now".
This isn't the first time this has happened to me, so I transferred all my prescriptions to another pharmacy. I suggest that everyone else do the same. I'm not going to waste my time dealing with people too lazy to work and I no longer trust them to get my...
