Hello Rc Visions and Staff,
Walking into the shop this afternoon restored my faith in the hobby and local shops! My first and last experience was with Robs Rc Hobby in the same plaza many years ago. I was a bit hesitant to enter this place only to experience the same lack of care and basic customer service. That was absolutely not my experience...
Walking in the front door the place and layout looked very familiar to Robs Place and instantly felt at ease when the friendly staff greeted my wife I with kind and genuine smiles. I asked the gentlemen at the front counter where the tires are?since it was my first time in this place I didn't want to take too much time away from the staff seeing how busy they were with many other customers and families on this windy afternoon. He informed me to where the tire selection was located, with no attitude at all.
I wanted to visit a local shop in order to see the tires in person I even brought my spare tire to make sure I found a good fit. One of the perks of visiting a small business and seeing the products in person vs online shopping. Within a few minutes we were helped by the young girl that works there and even tho they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, she was very helpful in helping me with my purchase decision and helping me navigate the tire selection. I ended up finding these sweet Proline Super sticky tires to upgrade an old Maisto Rock Crawler Build.
Feeling comfortable at this point, seeing all the helpful staff and other families enjoying themselves, my wife and I decided to walk around the the shop a bit and check out the current selection. Right next to the mini Crawler course is a MEGA Stack of the Coolest most Awesome Rc Line up in my opinion. The Scx24 mini crawlers have taken the hobby by storm!. The perfect gift for new or experienced hobbyists becuase of the upgrades and parts selection. If you are not sure what to get this Christmas these will not disappoint!
Big selection of parts and batteries. New Models and they even had a small selection of Planes and boats. Let's face it we are all here for the Rc Cars and trucks! Eventually found my way around the counter and was greeted by Saul. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. Very much willing to listen to my needs. I asked him if they had a very specific battery brand and size I was looking for a dynamite speedpack 1750 mah Nihm pack becuase of the smaller size and weight and run time this was the perfect battery that matches the old 1/18 ecx ruckus electronics. Saul was curious and even looked up a search to check all his inventory and explained how this is a really old battery for an old brand which i knew that it was a long shot. But Man he did not disappoint! He had the packs in stock!! Woohoo!! We talked a bit and he even helped me find an alternate connector that would get job done for charging my battery with the ec3 connector to hx3.
All in all this was the best experience I had at local shop in a long time. 3 basic customer service needs were met. 1. Smile and be kind. 2. Listen to the customer. 3. Willingness to help and simply treat people like people. Everyone on the team this day was awesome and I saw alot of other very happy customers being taken care of with the same level of care. I was amazed and applaud this team!!. I own a small business and I know how vital it is to simply provide service with a smile and treat people with respect.
Will be back to spend all my money here. You have my business and looking forward to upcomming events! Thank you Saul, Jacky and Staff,...
Read moreHad high hopes of this store as many hobby stores are going the way of the dinosaurs and blockbuster. Popped in as I was looking for a step up in speed and quality over Amazon. Ask the associate (Guieremo V) to show me trucks in the $100-200 range that will go faster than things I've purchased on Amazon. He shows me just two trucks, one $190 another for $220. I ask if I can see or test any at the store. He says absolutely not. So I went on his sole advice and purchased a Traxxis RTXM4T Chevy. I get it home and charge it and drive it for literally 5 minutes on the sidewalk, and the thing is slower than a snail. I google the model and am told by big online RC creators who've I've since become friends with that the specific model is known to be slow and only becomes fast if you dump hundreds of dollars of parts into upgrading it from hobby stores and that the poor hobby stores, like this one, sell them to people with little RC knowledge to bait them into buying more upgrades. I was upset at this point. I call RC visions back and ask if I can return it as it's too slow and have owned it for maybe 30 minutes. They claim no returns accepted unless it's been unused and unopened. Poor policy and con job of a business. I expect this business will be closed down soon with these poor practices. Shame as they're ruining the fun in an otherwise fun hobby space. Look elsewhere or go buy directly from manufacturer is my advice.
*Update based on their reply. We were only shown 2 trucks in our price range. We only picked the Chevy because we were told by their associates the Chevy vs the Ford were exact same other than branding and color. We were never told that the truck wasn't speedy. We were not told it would need to be upgraded. I specifically asked for something faster than Amazon RCs.
The only factual bit of information that they responded here to my review was that their return policy is in fine print on their receipts. However it doesn't mean there return policy makes any sense or is right.
Anyways I'm not here to argue just know thier is misinformation in thier response seems they're trying...
Read moreI kinda grew up in hobby shops as weird as that sounds and worked at two when I was younger so I really want to like this place since it’s kinda our local shop. I’ve met the owner or co-owner of this place and he seemed great and invested in seeing his store succeed. John was awesome and really helpful when he worked there but the rest of these guys are just kinda useless. Everytime I go there, it’s just car people that don’t really know anything else and don’t really even understand the basics of this hobby (like one guy didn’t know what a receiver pack is, that’s pretty basic right?). But today is really what made me want to write this review. Went in, asked for a set of connectors. I told the guy that the product I was buying was 25% cheaper online. The guy tells me they price match with Horizon. I bring up the Horizon website. Then he asks another guy and the guy is like oh we get them from the manufacturer, sorry. I’m like so will you price match the manufacturers website if I look and he goes oh sorry no. Then the original guy I was talking just stares at me blankly like the last thing he wanted to be doing was help me. Like dude at least put in the effort and be like oh man sorry, is there anything else I can help you with. Idk if it’s cus I’m white and not into cars or something but man are these guys just complete duds. I only go here if I need my stuff faster than...
