I ordered an AC unit online on July 2nd. I received an email saying that it would be delivered that day and was surprised but very happy about it. It never came that day.
I was traveling for the next two weeks but my wife was home and the unit never arrived.
Just this morning I called in and let them know I placed an order and they said it would be delivered the same day but it wasn’t.
Right away the customer service agent said that’s not possible it wouldn’t have been the same day. I don’t see why he would want to disagree with a customer like that. Why would I make it up?
Anyways, today is a Thursday and she said the earliest delivery is Tuesday. I am now driving to pick it up.
Home Depot, you used to be a great company but something happened. Not once did you guys notify me what was going on. And now your two weeks late and I am the one having to pick it up?
I will never buy from your store again. Horrible customer experience. The antithesis of Amazon.
Follow up: Spoke to a manager. They don’t care. This dude didn’t even make eye contact.
Final follow up: I wasn’t able to load it in my car so after speaking with that same manager again he was able to have somebody deliver it right then.
So while it wasn’t the best experience I’ve ever had they made it right which counts for a lot in my book and therefore I have updated my review to a 3 stars.
It would have been four or five but I had to ask for a manager again to get them to do it that day. I have been told they only deliver on Monday Wednesday and Friday but obviously that isn’t true.
Mistakes are the best opportunity to turn customers into raving fans, when handled appropriately.
If they wanted to make this a five star review, they should’ve said from the beginning we’re very sorry about that sir we are going to get it delivered...

Went into customer service, Lynn was trying to help me. I had 3 different online orders with bits left over & one in store transaction. 2 cans of black spray paint & some wood trim was on one, Lynn said would go back to my current credit card & A small store credit for $33.54 A couple other transactions online (more wood trim & a small light) on a different credit card. However I had cancelled the credit card I had used for them. ( it had been hacked.) Although I had the original order confirmation that showed I had paid, I no longer had the card. So please know this ; get ALL RECEIPTS , yes for your returns as well. If you don’t have the receipt they WILL NOT issue credit of any kind. They used to…. But I guess it has changed as so many things have. I will no longer buy online from them because of this. Shame because it was convenient to have it delivered to me. Very sad.
I have gone to several Home Depot’s over the years. Some good & some…. Not so much. Recently moved back to Huntington Beach needing repair work done on our home I went to this Home Depot. I was under whelmed by home decor desks ( had none) , hardware ( which laughed at me when I asked for marine cleats). Yes they carry them in hardware which I SHOWED THEM. Most recently I have done a lot of curbaide pick ups. Spot on ! I received a survey “ how did we do?” I did the survey & my only complaint was the product was slightly damaged. Not a deal breaker. Read moreI need to leave 5 stars for Carl specifically. Carl was the MVP for me on Saturday night. I work for an escape room, so sometimes we have some pretty specific and unique needs, and as murphys law dictates, we always have those needs when it's the busiest and most invonvenient time to have them. I called this Home Depot to see if they carried a specific gauge of copper wire in a casing for a puzzle in one of our rooms and Carl helped me on the phone. Carl not only scoured this Home Depot, but when he realized they didn't have any in stock, he checked other home depots, and started looking at neighboring businesses for me. He checked Harbor Freight, Best Buy, etc, and we didn't have any luck. I thanked him for his effort and told him I would keep doing research and hopefully find something but I appreciated all he was doing. 5 minutes after we hung up, he called me back to tell me he found exactly what I was looking for at an Auto Zone, and he also gave me their phone number, address, and informed me that they were open for about another hour and that he called them to confirm that they had what I needed in stock. He absolutely saved the night for my business, and his customer service is a 10/5. Give him a raise. He clearly cares about customers and he made what was a stressful situation for me infinately more manageable just by caring and going the extra mile. I cannot give him enough stars!!!
