Orange County is full of Vietnamese restaurants, especially in Westminster and its surroundings, so it takes me some time to find other likeablely delicious Southeast Asian cuisines. I came across Lawa Thai in Huntington Beach by browsing Google map and it has such a high rating of 4.9. I cross-checked on Yelp, and it also has a high rating of 4.8. After reading the reviews and looking at the photos, I decided to go with some friends.

We can decide the level of spicy so all dishes were with mild level of spicy. However, we didn’t taste any spicy at all which was good.
Highlights: Sampler all tasted crispy and we loved the dipping sauce. The chicken in green curry was very tender. The watier was also super attentive and friendly.
Overall we really enjoyed dining here! After checking, this is a newly opened Thai restaurant and currently there is a promo event that if you share the photos on Instagram and tag it then you’ll get a free Thai tea which tasted good, too!
This is my honest review and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try some delicious Thai food in Huntington Beach.

Read moreWe went to Huntington Beach to check out their shopping center and visited Lawa Thai Cuisine for lunch. I have to say, this is my new favorite Thai restaurant! The food is delicious and made me miss Thailand.
We had a chance to talk to the owners. They are very friendly Thai people, experienced chefs, and we learned more about their dishes and stories. They use fresh and high-quality ingredients and create very unique and amazing presentations. Before the shop opened, they spent a lot of time designing it. It's such a modern take on traditional design
.What we ordered:
Hor Mok Taylay (seafood curry in a coconut shell) - 10/10, amazing presentation, homemade sauce is natural and flavorful, fresh seafood, and they use fresh-cut coconut shell. You can eat the coconut meat at the end.
Panang Salmon - the sauce is tasty and the salmon is very moist. I could eat a whole bowl of rice with it.
Kao Soi Chicken - the most delicious chicken legs, so soft and flavorful, the chicken meat easily fell from the bone and is very good flavor. Loved it.
Grilled Pork Jowl Salad - never had it before, it’s such a great appetizer , so refreshing, and the pork jowl was perfect.
Poh Tak (seafood soup) - quite spicy for me, but my family enjoyed it.
Papaya Salad - thinly cut, crunchy, and refreshing.
Coco Island (coconut ice cream) - I love this dessert so much, with fresh-cut fruit on top, coconut ice cream, and also fresh sticky rice underneath. It was creamy and sweet.
All in all, it was an amazing experience visiting Lawa Thai. They also have vegan options. I can't wait to...
Read moreChecking out new places is always a gamble, but Lawa Thai Cuisine definitely paid off! The ambiance is lovely – a nice, modern vibe. They have a bar, which is a plus, though sadly they didn't have any IPAs (my usual go-to). The food, however, more than made up for it! We started with the Chicken Satay, which was perfectly grilled and flavorful. Following our server's recommendations, we tried the Kao Soi Chicken. Wow! This was a revelation. The rich, creamy curry broth with tender chicken and crispy noodles was something completely new to me, and I loved it. Definitely a must-try. We finished with the Coco Island dessert, another recommendation from our server, and it was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The service was also excellent – attentive and friendly. Overall, Lawa Thai Cuisine is a fantastic spot for delicious Thai food in a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to explore more...
