I visited Ivy Nail salón after reading many reviews indicating that this place is great. My experience was not what I was expecting based on the reviews. Before you walk in you notice all the signs on the door indicating how they are managing social distancing. Once you enter you are required to first use hand sanitizer, wear a mask, take your temperature and sign a waiver relieving them of responsibility if you contract COVID-19. I thought this to be good practice since you also have to leave your name and number to be contacted in case of an outbreak in their salon. Every other nail station was occupied as well as the spa chairs. I asked for a pedicure, I was seated after a few minutes of waiting not before being asked if I had an appointment. Once I was seated the owner was the one that was providing the service, however he continuously kept looking at the door and not quite paying attention to my feet. Every time someone walked in he got up to tend to them. When he finally focused on me he failed to clean under my nails as I asked him to do. When filling my nails he pretended to file them by doing a swift round motion with his had and the file. I asked him to file again but of course more customers where coming in so he got up to tend to them. By this time I was getting frustrated and just gave up on having a good pedicure. If you want callous removal is $5 more when getting a regular pedicure. The process of dead skin removal is mediocre. He scrubbed my feet with a very very small scrubbing pad. I was confused about why he was using that. Instead of using regular skin scrub on my legs they use half an orange. I was expecting flower petals as listed on the price chart I was told they didn’t have any. This confused me even further because that is the expectation based on what they offer. I really wanted this place to be great being that I travelled all the way from DC but I guess everyone’s experiences will vary based on who provides your service. I give them two stars because they have a social distancing...
