Kroger — Local services in Huntsville

The Winchester Rd Kroger is pretty old and dirty imo. The isles are too narrow and when ppl are having their family reunions in the isle it makes it annoying to get around them. These things could be over looked tho cuz we can’t all have brand new super spacious Kroger’s on our side of town. The real reason for my low rating is, in the last yr that I’ve shopped there, I have come home with expired pudding (I should have checked the date, yes, but it shouldn’t even be out for purchase), I have bought cookies that were stale and completely broken when I opened them. A can (of pineapples) that I opened was completely rusted on the inside and the fruit was badly molded. Green peppers that look good on the outside were full of mold when opened up- this has happened more than once, And more often than what seems normal their produce will wilt and go bad way earlier than something I bought at say, Publix. Kroger has always been my weekly shopping place- the prices are good, their employees are usually very helpful w/ good attitudes, you can earn extra money off of gas, and some Kroger brand products are way better then name brand goods- Kroger white choc mocha coffee creamer and Kroger brand cottage cheese are my favorite! But I just can’t stomach any more moldy produce or canned goods. The dirtiness of the store sticks out even more to me now than ever before becuz of the stale dry goods on the shelves or bad dairy So i guess until this one is knocked down and a new fancy one is built I must part ways with...

The new manager (I’m assuming since she was barking orders at the employees) is going to run away what customers and employees they have left. They only had self check out open and I had about $300 worth of groceries and while I was scanning them I overhead her talking to other people telling them to “watch me” and then kept walking back and forth around me not saying anything just to watching me scan which is weird then she sent another employee over to scan items that were below my cart when I had already scanned them and I said I’m not paying for it twice if it was going to get scanned again. The employee looked like he hated his job and didn’t say anything to me he then told the manager lady (she was wearing a brown like jogger suit) and said “she already scanned that”. Then I heard more whispering. I have been coming to this store over 15 years but this is the last time I will ever come back to this Kroger location I have never been treated like that in all the years I have came there. Their is to many grocery stores in the area for corporate or whoever is in charge to allow this woman to come in and ruin the store. As I was loading my groceries two employees were talking about this woman and then I started talking and told one of them what had just happened and they said that manager has been treating all customers like they are thieves and agreed that she’s going to run off the staff...

Be careful of online pick up. After waiting 20 minutes. Got out of my car to ask one of the folks working the status. After several more minutes they determined they gave my groceries away - but hey - accidents happen, except they acted like it was me in the wrong over getting out of my car and asking for a refund and the manager comes out with total attitude and puts it back on me to get the refund or say he can contact customer support (but acts like total inconvenience). Just wanting others to be aware of this level of service and may the odds always be in your favor. Wife had better luck with the app than I did with humans at the store... how about a little apology in future and no attitude from management. IMO - terrible! But hey - to each their own. Go to Aldi.

Update: 6/14/2024 - went to pick up order on time at 6:40, came out at 7:05 and told 15 more minutes, 7:15, came back out and told to come back tomorrow (SAT) morning to pick up. What is going on with this store?

Update: 7/5/2024 - trying pick up service again. This time the person delivering crashed the grocery dolly into my car and the blue bins with all the sodas came crashing onto my car (maybe a small scratch but person indicating it was against my tire). I'm too tired to make a scene. What is goin on with this store? Continues to be...
