DARDEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AT THIS STORE MY OL FRIEND SAD 2 SAY I WILL NOT BE BACK IF U R GIVING FOOD AWAY , Went into Star Market in 5 points Tuesday morning ck out at 9:04 am when I walked in asked Ms Sue if it was Senior discount day she replied yes it is so went back & got a pack of Ground Chuck & a pack of pork chops both on sale then looked for Darden over in the pharmacy to say hello but he wasn't there so went to register #2 to check out and get my discount but the place you swipe you're card wasn't working properly I joked that Darden could fix that Ms Sue said IT COST 2 MUCH in a very snotty way and grabbed my card out of my hand and it still didn't work I asked for my card back then I gently tried it again it worked fine but she was very Rude so was the man bagging I made the statement that I wouldn't be back then got into the car and no senior discount called but manager was off Tuesday 9-13-22 so I phoned him this morning no apology or anything so now I understand why the store was almost empty in fact I was the only customer in line but after this experience I wouldn't go back if they were giving food away . Darden would be upset to know this is how this store is being operated when he's not there . Funny the one in Meridianville I have NEVER EVER had a issue so they will get my biz but NEVER EVER AGAIN FOR ME AT 5 POINTS FOR THIS CUSTOMER ! I really want want to love this market, but I can't find any reason to. It's cute, yes, and it feels like you go back in time, complete with a lot of old-timer shoppers, but it's expensive, such as selling Danish Kringle for $35.99 when Trader Joe's sells it for $9.99. I have a sweet tooth, and the cakes look yummy at first glance, but they also appear to be brought in from someplace else and sort of made to look like it's fresh. I've sampled several of them and they were Food City quality (not very good, stick with Publix bakery). The deli and pizza section are my favorite places in the store. The deli items look fresh... potato salad, broccoli, salad, etc, and they taste good, but what I thought was homemade appears to be right out of the tubs that are stored in the corner of the deli window (they have labels from the manufacturer). Then you have the hot foods, like meatloaf, squash, casserole, mac and cheese.... I've sampled several and they are good but not great, but what really blows my mind is they are hot foods in plastic containers, under heat lamps. Good grief! Has nobody told them about the dangers of microplastics?! Please change to safer containers! And then we come to Terry's Pizza in the back corner. The Sticky Fingers has always been my favorite pizza in town, and I bought one today to test because I read other reviews that said it's really gone downhill. I live in 5 points..have been for over a year and everyone says go to star market and in a pinch I will go to star market.but probably my last time unless I’m forced to... it’s priced way to high.. today I brought up dairy products from February. To the cashier that gave me a song and dance that there was someone doing the rotation of product today .. really it’s 5:00 on a Sunday the things I brought up were from Feb.. that’s disgusting The can goods are a whole different saga.. so outdated , I won’t buy can goods with you.. I know the original owners and they would be appalled at the merchandise your selling.. you had kale and something I’m not sure what it was.. totally wilted and dead.. I come there for convenience and to support 5 points but I’m sure I will travel farther to get what I want , that I don’t have to continuously take my time to check the expiration dates Might want to check that out.. rumors are out there..
