Starting with the pros: the food that was available was pretty good, and I like the color scheme a lot.

Cons: literally everything else. We didn't realize the buffet was the only thing available but decided to stay anyway. There's a table about 3 feet from the buffet line which would normally be enough space and fine, except there were kids standing behind their chairs and jumping around in the buffet zone. Twice when the cook was bringing more food out she had to tell the kids multiple times that she had hot food and to look out before she was able to pour new food into the container that was already there. Which is my second point: that's so gross?? Swap containers, don't just dump new food on old food. How many refills happen before the container is swapped?

The basmati rice had some curry drippings in it and the edges were VERY crispy, so I was like "ok I'll just have naan with the curry, no big deal." But the naan spot was empty and I had to go check literally 4 times to see if they had refilled it. I wasn't specifically timing it but I did go every time a new song came on so it was at least ten minutes. We asked our server about it before I started checking, and after a few minutes I was like "ok I'm just gonna go look myself...until it's there, I guess."

The handles on the buffet things' lids were sticky. The manager(?) was lurking around but not actually checking the quality or status of anything, or he would have noticed the stickiness and gross crispy rice and probably noticed/asked why I opened the naan container so many times without getting anything.

One of the times I checked on naan there were literally four people on their phones at the same time in the kitchen. There was almost as much staff as there were tables. I want to say it seemed like everybody was trying their best but truly the girl in the kitchen who was bringing out curry refills is the only person who looked busy. I worked here when it was Mario's and have dealt with this building being jam packed, and with the number of employees tonight everything should have been absolutely on point.

I'm definitely not going back until the full menu is available but I'm hoping that whenever that happens I can update this review with a better experience. I really like Indian food and from the curries on the buffet it seems like it'll be really good overall once you guys get yourselves...

Well, today was an official grand opening. We were excited to try this new Indian restaurant. we were the 4th people in line. we got seated quickly. Server- absolutely no training and no experience even for serving water. we understand with current job situation that could be expected. but they even didn't teach them how to use the credit card machine. We Just blame it on bad training manager.

Food - It was a Saturday buffet lunch. I hate to say that but food were tasteless and has no Indian food flavors.the food selections are not good and not authentic Indian food. No basmati rice just used Chinese rice. Bread was good. considered we were the first people got in, food was only warm not hot. I noticed there were no warmers under few of the food plates in the buffet line and no overhead heat to keep the food in right tempeture. It seems like they had many employees but everyone standing around buffet and no food runner to keep up with empty items in buffet for a long time. I think people running the business have no experience in restaurant business.(IMO)

Soft Drink- No Tea. Asked for hot tea, waiter came back after 5 minutes and said they don't have any hot tea. asked for iced tea, he came back and said no iced tea. Only have Pepsi product. After that we didn't want to bother and ask for Mango lassi drink. They served water with no Ice and we asked for ice and took long time to get.

Atmosphere - Restaurant is very clean but has no Indian decorations. (Except few pictures)

Price - I guess price was $16.50/ Sat. Buffet/ per person (We were charged $35+ tax for 2) Waiter was struggling using the credit card machine and we weren't sure if that was the correct price or not. He just handed us the receipt and had no place to leave a tip on the receipt.

Location - Very good location especially for Indian restaurant (IMO) with plenty parking space. Easy to get there from I-565

Conclusion - We definitely won't judge the restaurant based on service nowadays, but sorry to say it food was NOT what we expected. As much as we love Indian food, we are not going...

Wanted to try for the first time this Indian restaurant for lunch with my family of 4. Arrived at about 12:00 on a Saturday and got seated. Noticed their menus are based on a QR code which is no problem, so we looked at the menu and picked out our meals. About 15 minutes later, the server informed us they only offered the buffet on Saturdays. Nowhere did we see that the buffet was the only choice, but this was fine, so we checked out what they had, which looked good. Nowhere did they say the cost, so I asked, and they said ~$17, which was pretty expensive, but we still wanted to try the food, and they had a duck dish that looked interesting. So we committed to the buffet and found out 4-5 items out of 13 were empty, including rice, duck, dumplings, etc. Ok, they surly planned to refill, so we got some available food and waited another 30 minutes. The buffet at this time was not restocked, and even worse, more items like naan, so I talked to the manager, and he started to bring out the rice. Waited another 10 minutes, and only the rice was restocked. Now it was around 1:00, and we had been there about 1 hour for a buffet we were done. Lunch for 4 ended up costing $72 dollars for half of their normal buffet; thus, I am not happy. Talked to the manager on the way out, and he said this never happens, they keep the buffet restocked every 10 minutes, and the person who normally did this was having issues. Maybe this is an abnormal situation; however, I don’t know if I will be back. I am not sure if the manager cared if we came back after admittedly real issues that day. There is plenty of Indian restaurants in the area, and I have never had these types of issues at these other establishments.

The good news is the food that was available was very good, but this does not make up for the cost, and all of the items were not restocked this is why I have them 2 stars...

I feel like they changed chefs. The goat chettinad was basically a dish filled with oil, fat and goat bones. It looks like goo. There may have been an ounce of actual meat in the entire $20 dish. The flavor was great but, due to being almost completely made of oil and goat fat, it was essentially inedible. The achari paneer tikka was burned black and overcooked. I didn’t even know you could overcook paneer to this level. It was like trying to chew rubber. Online, the jini dosa looks a thick burrito. It looks stuffed full and delicious. In reality, it resembles a crepe. It’s soggy and thin without much flavor. The filling is practically non-existent. You can’t even tell what it was supposed to be stuffed with in the picture or in person. I’ve gotten food from here months ago (more than once) that was fantastic but today’s food was a huge disappointment. This food is far too expensive to be sub par. Additionally, I tried to take a couple drinks to go. The girl at the front couldn’t figure how to charge me for them so I didn’t get what I wanted. She was sweet but improperly trained. There was no one else around. The service here has always been bad but they used to make up for it with the food. Unfortunately, I probably won’t be back even though this restaurant used to be a favorite.

Every bite of our dinner was a testament to the talent and creativity of the chef (who trained at Michelin star restaurants, we were told.) The garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had. The okra appetizer was sliced super thin and fried just right. Even if you don’t love okra - order it. Seriously. The basmati rice of the Biryani had an indescribable blend of spices - so fragrant and fresh. The Chicken Manchuria was crispy and the sauce was rich and tasty with just the right amount of light heat for me. We were greeted at the door and taken immediately to a table. Savannah, our server, was so patient in helping me figure out what I wanted in all the choices that are offered. (I will never again default to butter chicken just because I don’t know what to order.) And Mindy, the hostess, who was a wealth of information and friendly in a non-pushy way) recommended a delicious dessert made with fluffy balls of fried (something yummy) in a sugar syrup that was fabulous. I’m gonna hate it when the secret is out, because it will be harder to get in, but take my advice and treat yourself. So they had service issues early on. So has everyone in town. Tonight the place was running like clockwork. Glad to see this addition to Five Points. We’ll be back - a lot.
