Grocery Basket — Local services in Hyde Park Township

I normally don't do reviews, but i saw a couple of negative reviews and wanted to chime in (i know that everyone's experience is not the same). i am a Jewel shopper but i absolutely love my neighborhood store and try to shop there as much as possible. Yes, they may be a little higher but they cannot afford to have sales like Jewel or Food 4 Less or they wouldn't be in business and the convenience of getting in and out of the store is worth an additional $10. They always have everything that I need. I have looked for things in Jewel and they didn't have it but Grocery Basket did. If they don't have it, if you ask, they will order it. They have the prettiest neckbones period! You can find the small chicken wings there instead of the ones that look like they are on steroids. They have beautiful meats. They have the friendliest and most helpful staff period! Their produce is comparable to any other big chain store. Just so you know who I am, I am the customer that buys all those cracklins. My family has shopped at this grocery store for over 30 years. No matter if it changed hands or not. We were loyal customers but I will not be coming back as I believe that there’s a skimmer over their card scanner that was used to steal my ebt card information & spend it at Mina Halal Meat in Houston, Texas. Going onto the reviews of that place they have been stealing from across the country. I know that it had to have been stolen here as I only go shopping here & online at Walmart. I will not be shopping here again & I suggest that nobody else does either. If I could give it no stars I would. You have to always check your bag upfront or get followed and then told to check it up front. That's kinda uncomfortable and awkward especially when other customers are listening. Other than that it's okay most times. Most Cashiers are nice. On one recent occasion I was there during the evening time. I was able to locate my groceries successfully. The cashier I had was very boldly busy face timing on her phone. She did my whole transaction while loudly talking on the phone. I bagged my own items minus the one that she managed to pick up and drop in my bag. This cashier needs training in good customer service. The face timing...
