I had to give them one star but would rather them go out of business. I, like many other reviewers here, I had a terrible experience. I took my atv in there to them because my shift lever wasn't operating correctly. I was told by the service manager that my atv was an antique and I should think about buying a new one before they started working on it (yes it's a late 80's 4-wheeler but it has been well maintained.) SO I told the guy about my shift lever problem and that I thought it was a cable adjustment. He told me that they do all those adjustments with a full service and recommended a carb clean because it had been sitting a year. So I agreed and went on with my life.
One week later I finally get a phone call that my stuff is done (never have I waited to long for a service in my life). I get there and they load it in to my truck, my wallet gets $330 lighter. I ask the service manager if they fixed the problem and he told me everything was good. I get home and as soon as I get home, I go to shift in reverse and the lever is still stuck. SERIOUSLY??? So I call them right away and the service manager tells me that they took it on a test ride and didn't see any problems and isn't sure what's going on. (LIAR!)
So I take it back to them and as soon as I unload it, the mechanic comes out with wrenches to adjust my brakes because he didn't have time to adjust them and thought that was the problem. I get talking with the mechanic and ask him about the shift lever, he said that it worked fine on his bench but they called me to pick it up before he had a chance to take it on a test drive. So the service manager says they test drove it, the mechanic says they didn't. The service manager is a liar. It gets better.
They tell me they'll look at it and I leave. Three days later I get a phone call that my 4-wheeler is done. I go in and the service manager goes to get the mechanic to tell me what is going on. They told me that something internal is wrong with the high-low mechanism and that it would probably be more money than the 4-wheeler is worth to fix it. But they aren't charging me for the time they have diagnosing this and they got it to free up a bit and it should get better with use. Not happy what-so-ever, I leave.
I use the drive select for a week and finally the drive select cable, yes CABLE breaks. This is one that should have been checked in the full service. The cable itself pulled apart and the cable was rusted inside the sleeve. So I called Cache Yamaha to get the part number and a price. $170 for the cable and they had to order it and it would take 10 days to get in. Jump on amazon, $80 for the cable, with two day shipping. No brainer.
Now I'm not incredibly handy but when the cable came, it took me two hours to change it out and my 4-wheeler runs perfectly now. So I wasted a lot of time and money on Cache Honda Yamaha and will never make that mistake again.
Please do yourself and favor and never buy a new machine from them (because you won't get follow up service) and definitely don't let them do any service work...
Read moreAfter reading through these reviews I was pretty skeptical about the service at Cache Honda Yamaha. Yet, I proceeded with caution and took in my 1986 Yamaha and entrusted it to this group of strangers hoping for the best. I thought about giving them a small task but decided to dive all in, tasking them with replacing my shims on my solid lifters, tuning the carbs, changing the oil, and replacing the tires. I dropped the bike off made some small talk with the associate and went home and prayed that my experience would be different from others. Surely, these services were ones a motorcycle dealership would do on a regular basis. Soon after dropping off my bike I got a call from the service center surrounding the enrichers on my carbs which I wanted to replace... they were verifying that I really wanted them replaced... I confirmed the work to be completed. Less than an hour later I received call number two, this time from the actual mechanic. He suggested, and I concurred, that I not replace the enrichers until I have the rest of the parts that go with them. Saving me a couple hundred dollars in labor in the long run. After this interaction, I heard nothing until the bike was finished. I went to pick the bike up with great anticipation for improved performance. They certainly delivered on everything they said they would do. The engine runs better than has since I have owned the bike and the new tires and balance got rid of the death wobble that occurs above about 90mph. It rides smooth all the way to 130mph. (Not that I would encourage anyone to drive that fast anywhere but on a track.) All of the employees at Cache Honda Yamaha seemed to be there to offer the best service possible. It was done with a smile and the work completed was professional and timely. I will certainly be returning for any future service I need on my bike. I would highly recommend them for quality professional work at...
Read moreI have a Honda VTX 1300 that has never leaked a spec of any fluid. I had these guys change the oil and repair a rear flat. Within a week of the oil change I found a pool of oil under the bike in my garage. Checked the drain plug and filter which seems tight enough so I called them. Initially, everything seemed okay and they offered to pick it up and repair it which happened promptly. They told me they replaced the lock washer, the drain plug and rethreaded the pan. Well, its been about a week or two and we're in the same situation again. Don't feel confident in calling them to take care of this AGAIN.. I would happily update my review if the issue were properly repaired, they've been gracious each time I have talked to them. Just seems like something that shouldn't be so hard to get right.
update
I spoke with the manager and after our conversation he had informed me of a few things and that, even though he didn't feel it was their doing he'd be happy to have it looked at for me again. I will be taking the bike back but after our conversation, I feel much more confident with them and the effort to at least figure out what is the cause.
update
Issue was taken care of at no additional cost to me. I keep it 4/5 because it was resolved satisfactory but took three trips. I appreciated the effort to make sure it was taken care...
