Got haircut and shampoo massage from Kat. She was great. I was a awkward client and I made things uncomfortable, but she was super nice about it and also sincere.

The shop was nice and comfy, although the sink was a little low for me @ 6’4”. Overall nice.

It was my first haircut in over a decade. Hair is a sensitive thing for me since my ex wife always used to take care of me.

As I said Kat was great. She did a good job on my hair which is impressive because my hair is near impossible. She also managed dealing with my low vibes. I really appreciate that. I know a hairstylists’ job isn’t to heal broken hearts, but I am what I am, and she really helped by just being authentic.

This symbolizes moving forward and accepting being alone... haha 12 years later... I dragged my feet didn’t I? Oh well, better late than never.

Since I got out of the military, I have tried a few barber shops, tried doing cuts and beard upkeep on my own and never really was satisfied. I just had my first cut with Taylor today and my hair was a MESS. I had buzzed it a month or so back, my beard was wild and kinda scraggly. I asked Taylor to try and cut/style my hair for a slick back look and to tame my beard and take off some length.

Not only was she able to do everything that I asked for, I couldn’t believe how she was able to do it. I cannot remember the last time I had a cut that made me really really happy. Until today.

My previous barber was an old school barber from back in the day, but since he's retired, I haven't been able to find a place I like. From chain hair joints to hair places that make me feel like a creep with all the posters on the wall, I was not finding a place I was comfortable with and liked the work. DOE is like a new version of an old business of not just chopping hair, but really consider pampering you. The scalp massage and shampoo was a nice touch.
