I really hope my experience was one-off.
I came to D&L because of the great reviews online. I met with Daniel in the store (7/30/2025) and he was kind and professional. He gave me a really good signed quote to do a rendering, and recast a ring to fit a new bigger stone. I left everything with him and he said he would call me when the rendering was ready for approval before casting.
Two weeks went by and I reached out to them to see how things were going. This time they deferred me to Eric, who is the son of Daniel, and he informed me that they wouldn’t be able to do the work I was originally quoted for the price I was given. The price almost doubled (citing gold increase costs.) It felt like a bait and switch. This seemed like a red flag but since we had already started the process, I reluctantly requested they proceed.
Over the course of almost 2-1/2 months, I learned that the owner Daniel, had “subcontracted” my ring work to his son Eric. Eric stopped responding via text and phone call and I would have to call the store to get them to have him respond. He would tell me it would be ready by a certain date, and then when I followed up on that day… silence. This happened multiple times.
Eventually Daniel just took the work back over and I was dealing directly with him, however he used his sons higher quote and I had to pay additional at the end for things that were in the original cheaper quote from him, like an appraisal for an additional $100. No discounts or compromises. They did not “try to make it right”.
On pickup day (10/4/2025), the diamond was slightly crooked on the ring and I requested that they adjust it. When they adjusted it, they scratched several sections of the ring. We went back and forth several times until it was as good as it was going to get. It took them 2 hour 30 min while I waited in store.
In the end, I did get the finished product, but the overall experience was stressful and painstaking and took almost 2 months longer and cost twice as much as I originally told. I left there not feeling good about my decision to use them.
I don’t say these things to bash the business, they were professional and kind people, but these were my legitimate experiences and I want others to make an educated decision before...
Read moreMy wife and I took her wedding ring here to get repaired. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first because I'm used to jewelers where the employees all dress like CEOs and they talk like car salesman, but this place is way more than meets the eye.
We were unexpectedly walked to the back of the store and were introduced to Daniel, the jeweler. The environment reminded me of a mechanic's workshop; tools everywhere that I could not identify and everything looked pretty messy, but in a good way, which is hard for me to describe. Like a place of passion, which is exactly the vibe I got from Daniel. As our ring was in a machine to be cleaned before getting work done on it, Daniel described to us his process and was VERY passionate. I loved how he showed us every step in how he fixed it WHILE HE WAS FIXING IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. I was NOT expecting that level of transparency. He told us he doesn't involve himself in the cost sides of things (his wife takes care of that, FAMILY OWNED!) because "it would take away from the art". We were also offered some bottled water that was given to use while we sat and watched Daniel work.
This place is, without a doubt, one of the most trustworthy places I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I will come back every time I need...
Read moreThis is NOT a good place to take your expensive wrist watch to for repair! I regretted taking my watch here. First, my watch spent over a week at their store and when they finally have it ready, they have messed up the watch while trying to open the back just to replace the battery! There are all kinds of scratches all over the watch and they are not even remorseful about this! Can’t believe they just damaged my expensive wrist watch instead of just replacing the battery! See attached images. Looks like they used an Hammer or something from trying to open the back cover. They are not...
