Just like the other locations this place smells really bad and it is covered up by an overabundance of dollar store air fresheners... The retro video games behind the glass are impossible to look through, they do not face the English labels on the imported games where you can see them, and they put stacks of other games in front of stuff in the back. There's also a very loud and flamboyant member of the staff, I believe he's the store manager and he is absolutely insufferable. His indoor speaking levels are offensive and he is yelling instead of actually talking. I will purposely avoid this location just so that I do not have to hear that individual yell at his staff. He dresses like a slob and he acts like one. That individual is enough to make me never come here again. Here's some serious advice to anybody and management reading this... You should never have your employees commiserate or badmouth customers that call in as loudly as this staff does. I was there at around 3:00 Wednesday December 27th, and somebody called in and the entire staff was just commiserating and being toxic about their customers loudly on the sales floor. This is abusive behavior and wholly unacceptable. The entire staff needs serious training on what is and is not acceptable behavior, and if it's any indication from the management on duty I don't think this will ever...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCome in here semi-frequently to fulfil my quest of being the coolest 90's kid there ever was. The employees don't nag at you like at GameStop, and (surprisingly) offer honest advice on where to get something if they don't have it. They get a good selection of retro consoles, by my estimates they have an NES/SNES about every other week. Some of the prices I could argue are a little high, but I'm not totally sure how they price things. The consoles and games work for the most part. The only thing I've bought that hasn't worked was an Atari flashback 4, but I was able to return it quite easily. I've bought a few Genesis cartridges here, and I will say that the pins on the bottom are usually a bit dirty. However, it's very easy to clean yourself. All you need is to dip a q-tip into some rubbing alcohol, and rub it against the pins, and then take the dry end and do the same, so it isn't moist. They have a great selection of movies as well, but I don't shop for those. They have games for about every console as well, from Atari 2600 to the Wii U, with games for the Sega master system ( the genesis' older brother), Sega Saturn and Dreamcast, and even the Atari Jaguar, albeit a few to none on occasion....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI literally just purchased a copy of Mario Sunshine from this store for 40 dollars. Youād think, for 40 dollars for a game thatās about 20 years old, theyād attempt to check its condition. Not only does the game not work, thereās visible HEAT DAMAGE on the disc and it refuses to play at all. Iād like to think this means they donāt even remotely attempt to check and see if the items they buy and sell to and from people work. Iām returning it and Iām literally never coming to this store again, and Iām warning everybody i know into older games to never come here either. Half Priced Books seems to have a few GameCube games once in a while and from what Iāve seen work, so maybe try there instead of this awful place. The only good thing is the return policy which, now that I think about it, is probably there so they donāt ever have to check if anything they sell works or not. Iām literally fuming over how non-difficult it would be to just do this basic task of testing a game, but, hey, maybe itās childish of me to think somebody who sells things would make sure they work first....
