El Meson Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I've been to this restaurant twice & after my latest experience I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A LATIN RESTAURANT. I tried patroning this restaurant as it's very close & convenient to my home. The first time was during the day on a Tuesday and the service was wonderful (had my kids in tow) & the food was pretty good & reasonably priced. However, I went back w/ my fiancé this Friday in the evening & the food was not nearly as tasty as before & the service was HORRIBLE. After we paid our bill (almost $45) my fiancé went over to Kroger to get a pack of cigarettes & I was still trying to finish my jumbo Margarita. A server came over & asked if I paid. I said yes we've paid our bill (they're were to go boxes on the table in font of me) & asked for a bag to put them in & asked if my order of queso blanco was ready yet. A couple min. later he came back w/ my items & said he would bring the bill. I told him AGAIN that I had paid. He came back & asked if I was sure I paid as I didn't pay my server & I said yes we paid up front. He came back AGAIN & asked if I had the bill & I said no the girl at the front had taken it when we paid. He said oh ok. I then told him that I was going to stay until I finished my drink. I usually have 2 big Margaritas, but this time I only had the 1 as I felt rushed out the door & accused of trying to fine & ditch. DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME & $$ ON POOR SERVICE & LESS THAN MEDIOCRE FOOD. GO TO EL RODEO IN SPEEDWAY. THE STAFF THEY'RE HAS ALWAYS BEEN FRIENDLY & COURTEOUS, THE FOOD IS GREAT ( THEY'RE QUESO BLANCO IS AMAZING), & VERY AFFORDABLE PRICING. I WISH I COULD RATE...

Tonight I tried El Meson I was highly disappointed. My food was cold and literally thrown together. I wanted chicken tamales with verde sauce and I got a pan with beef tamales and shredded chicken on top of it and cheese i look in the bag and was like maybe that’s how they make there I’ll at least try it. But once I got to the car to and pulled it out to eat I seen the beef with the red sauce and chicken and green sauce poured on top of it I was devastated. Even more devastated because he went to check and see if they had what I asked for first. You knew you didn’t have it why lie I could’ve and would’ve ordered something else. I can’t eat any red sauce due to it gives me really really bad heartburn that sometimes sends me to the hospital so I couldn’t even eat that! So I’m like whatever someone at my house might eat it let me enjoy my tacos take them out the back and they are cold and look like left over taco meat that was slightly warmed in microwave to take chill off the meat. My onions and cilantro was still very raw and normally they are cooked!!! I am so displease with my food I will NEVER eat here again even if the darn food is free!!! I only gave a one star but if I had a choice they wouldn’t even receive that!! My sisters and I took our 88 year old dad for lunch because he loves it there. We were all treated very poorly by all the staff. The server stopped helping us for some reason and my sister had to get up and hunt someone down to get a refill. All of a sudden a man shows up at our table with drinks, sits them down and walks away. He comes back with our tabs and collects cards right there and walks off. A girl who was cleaning tables kept staring at all of us with this soul staring demonic look that I’m pretty sure I’ll have nightmares about. We go to leave and the girl is still staring at us so my sister asked her if she has a problem. I grabbed my sister out of there because I know her temper.
