Mi Gente is full of surprises.
From the name, I expected it to be just another Mexican supermarket. While there is certainly a predominance of Hispanic items, there is a large Carribbean (Jamaican and Haitian) section, plenty of African items, a substantial produce section, live seafood and more. The Southeast Asian aisle was quite limited though, to be honest.
From the outside, I expected it to be a small to mid-sized market but it was big and also included a boba tea shop, an ice cream place, a restaurant and more.
From past experience with International Supermarkets, I expected many items not to have clearly labelled prices but that was not the case, either. Things were not cheap but at least, there were no surprises at the cash register.
Pro Tip If you are looking for FuFu pancakes, couscous, and other African items, this has one of the best selections that I have seen in Indianapolis (on par with Saraga Supermarket) but if you are seeking Thai, Cambodian, Burmese and other Southeast Asian items, you may be...

Fish living in filthy water, fish so hungry they are nibbling on each other, multiple dead fish in the tanks, fish jam packed so full they cant move around, fish with eyes that look blind not normal.
