North United Methodist church is a working church. It reaches out to the lowest to the highest people with all sorts of problems. Mental, Physical, Social, financial and social justice, ex cons: women and men who need help to re-enter the community, It has a happy church community with family, single and couples of same or different gender. A visitor is welcome with a handshake, nametag and food. There are too many programs going on with the church to list. I like also the habitat for humanity house buildings. The church serves soup kitchen three days a week and sends a meal home with the participants who come. The staff of the soup kitchen have made friends and keep in the lives of the people who come to the kitchen. Music rings through the church from 3 years old singing praise to the senior choir. The Church here hosts community based meetings, beyond its more strictly religious functions. I last visited to attend a Marion County Alliance of Neighborhood Associations meeting (MCANA).
