I visit this location several xās per wk while housed in Columbia; and have for the past 14+ years, even though Iām a bi-coastal resident. My purchases usually range anywhere from 25$ upwards of 60$-80$ and over 100$+ depending on the week/holiday/or special occasion. Generally, the customer service staff is pretty helpful and respectful; and the store is usually well-stocked/well-maintained. But, this one particular time around it was very difficult and a major disappointment! First of all, one of their longest serving employees, Renee, who knows me on a first name basis due to my consistent patronage, finds it necessary to ask me for ID, upon every visit, even if itās every other day⦠when I am 65-years of age; and always use the same card; or cash! Sick of that! In any case, today upon entering the store, I encountered a young man who was stocking, and there was a Caucasian man, four or five steps ahead of me, the employee found it necessary to greet the gentleman in front of me, but when he looked at me, he quickly/swiftly turned away, and proceeded up a ladder. So, I said excuse me, sir. Why didnāt you greet me? He stated, āI donāt have time because Iām busy doing what Iām doing right now.ā I said, but you had time to speak with him, and I was right behind him, and you looked me right in my face. Then after several more insults. I said well it all seems a bit racist to me. I am MIXED/Person of Color. He said, and I repeat, verbatim⦠āThere are more people in here that are far more racist than I am!ā I could not believe what Iād heard! So, there you have it! So, for the aforementioned reasons, I will never donn the doors, nor spend another $ in Greenās Beverage Warehouse, either location! I may have to drive a bit farther to go to Morganelliās on Forest Drive, in Cola., SC, for my wine-runs, but it will be worth it! Thus, my advice is if you are a Person of Color, spend your money elsewhere; where youāre welcomed and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has a good selection and friendly cashiers. There is just one problem, I seem to keep getting beer from them that really got skunked at some point. I bought 6 Aventinus bottles and a Schneider hefeweizen from Assembly street at the same time and they were all ruined. They are supposed to taste like apples and sweet happiness and bananas and bread, but tasted like skunk spray and bacon grease. I have had similar issues with the other location near Piney Grove road with Founders breakfast stout and now Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout. I know what these are supposed to taste like and I can't even comprehend how they are so messed up. The bottles weren't of excessive age because I checked. They were undrinkable drain pour level fouled. I have no idea what their warehouse is like, but they seem to be doing something wrong. I haven't had an issue with any of their Belgian beers from the walk in cellar temperature area and will continue buying from it out of neccessity, but anything on the sales floor they can keep and I'll buy elsewhere because I've been burned three times now. So every time I've made a big purchase from them I've had multiple ruined products. It couldn't be any...

On the liquor side the lady that checked me out was very friendly, I was also getting 15 bottles of wine, all the same brand , type, and size. When I got to the checkout I put one bottle of wine on the counter told the lady I had 15 bottles and could I please get a box , she did not even acknowledge that I had said that she comes around gets the buggy gets a box counts everyone reads every label puts them in a box rings them up finally and I ran my boyfriend's card to pay, as the wine was for him, she asked me for my ID I showed her my ID and then she proceeded to tell me that I couldn't purchase 15 bottles of wine from them because the name on my ID did not match the name on the card ,,, the sign by the register said "if using a debit card your ID must match the name on the card",,, I was not using a debit card I was using a credit card and she refused to sell...
