As we walked in, we were not greeted by the hostess. The host was standing at the host stand and did not say anything to us at all as we were making eye contact with her. We then decided to just go to the bar. As we walked to the bar we noticed that the floor was very sticky, as if it was mopped with dirty mop water. Once we get to the bar, there is no bartender stationary behind the bar. It took about five minutes to get service. Once we did get service the server was really sweet, but didn’t seem to have too much knowledge about the bar or menu. She also had half the tables in the restaurant as well, so she was running back-and-forth to both sides. There was a whole table of people that worked there on their cell phones and tablets, not helping anybody whatsoever. There was also a bus boy/server who was not busing tables, but he kept coming behind the bar and moving his phone charger to different spots. He also decided to vape in the corner right in front of the bathroom door. We get our sushi roll (GMC), which is one that we order frequently and it did not taste like it normally does (too much tempura & no spicy mayo). We then tell the server that we would like it remade because it doesn’t taste like it normally does she said that since half of it was eaten that they probably would not remake it (wife tried 2 pieces and I tried 2 pieces). She took my plate to the back of the kitchen, and I see her talking to the manager in the doorway. The manager then touches the sushi with his bare hands, after playing with his face. The sever then brings the plate back out to me and tells me that they’re not going to remake it because if they do, it would be the same thing. So I said I saw a man put his hand in my plate so I will no longer be eating this plate at all and we will take the check and leave. Then the manager comes out to speak to us and I tell him what’s happening. We told him that the roll looks like it as too much tempura and that it was missing spicy mayo. He then tells us that the roll does not come with spicy mayo. I then show him on the menu where it said that that particular roll does come with spicy mayo. Only then did they remove The sushi roll from our check. We paid our tab and left. All of this occurred on my wife’s birthday when we were just trying to have a nice quiet birthday dinner. I have been to this location before and after my experience today I will never be back. I’m not sure what changed here or what the management is doing, but this is not the standard that I’m used to getting at...
Read moreWell we came in there to have a mini celebration birthday for my daughter a few days early. I had heard great things about this restaurant so we gave it a try.
Waitress was pleasant enough. There was some big issue with the check a few tables down from us so we were trying our hardest to not make this lady's night any harder.
We ordered 2 appetizers. One was great, the other was a struggle to eat. However, the real issue was the ordering.
I am highly allergic to shell fish. However, my husband and daughters all enjoy it. We normally go inakaya but they are closed Mondays. So I order 3 sushi rolls and the steak and chicken hibachi entrée to share. My husband orders a sushi roll and states I would like this because she can't have any shrimp. My youngest daughter shouts yes she is very allergic. Each child order a kids hibachi meal. One steak and one with shrimp.
Well entrees come out sushi is all on one plate. And husband's roll has juice (cooked roll) from it and it is saturating all surround areas. We mention to the waitress this shouldn't all be on one plate and her response was to go get me my own plate to transfer food onto out of all of it we salvaged maybe 8 PC and my kids and husband enjoyed the rest.
Hibachi comes out and it is not amazing like a true Hibachi but with enough sauce it doesn't taste like a buffet style at least. We pay and leave a bit disgruntled but again trying to show we were decent people and the waitress already having delt with difficult customers pay and leave. About 15 minutes later I break out in hives and am extremely uncomfortable. Cross contamination is a very serious issue and when you are told about it food is supposed to be cooked separately on a clean grill which I am 99% didn't happen.
I am a breastfeeding mother to a baby boy and because of this allergic reaction I had to take benadryl to combat it for 2 days to help which lowered my supply despite increasing water consumption.
So thank you tsunami for not listening when we expressed an allergy and charging us $117.
We will...
Read moreLet me start of by saying I absolutely love this restuarant and I have been coming here for many many years and I have never had a problem UNTIL today. Myself and my coworkers went for lunch. We were there almost an hour and finally got our food... Our waiter (which was his 2nd day) and another waiter name Andrew brought our food out. Andrew told us that they didnt have enough rice but that they did put a little bit of rice on each one of our plates but that more rice will be brought out when the other rice was finished. Now its 2 hours we never got our rice that was promised and then we had to ask about 5 times for our checks and they finally brought them out and charged everyone for a full meal that we never got. When I asked Andrew about that our tickets because we never got the rice he said well do you want me to give you the rice to go?!?! Ummm no sir!! Then he proceeded to get a attitude with me and said I'll just have them take the rice off the ticket. (Mind you we have been there 2 hours and 15 mins now and having to change 7 tickets was going to take another hour.) I said nevermind just run our cards because we have to go. So he started bobbing his head, walked off and made comments.... I said Andrew was seems to be the problem he then stated loudly "look I wasnt even your waiter and I was trying to help but you are just one of those that like to be complaining just to be complaining and I dont want to talk to you" like hold the f* up and who are you sir? Ummmm no sir we started to go back and forth because of how he was talking to me and my coworkers. If you dont like your job then waiting is not for your Andrew. I asked the lady there for the owner/managers name which she was hesitant to give it to me then replied Kon... being that she was hesitant I asked the other waiter and said Sunbe if that's how you spell it. I will definitely be contacting the manager because this was very unacceptable. ANDREW WAS ABSOLUTELY...
