Poor customer service!!! - Terrible experience!! Went there for one thing, I found it in the first 5 minutes of being at the store... Searched for about 15 minutes trying to find an employee to help get the vase off the high shelf... No luck so I got in line waited in line for another 15 minutes while 1 of 2 men "tried" to ring up customers (at a snail pace) mean while one leaves as the lines is about 20 people in it... other customers are yelling for him to call for another cashier to assist him. 2 cashiers on a Sunday seems very understaffed if you have ever been here they always have a long line ... Especially with just ONE cashier! So after I get to the front I tell him I needed help getting this vase off the shelf (I was thinking he could just grab it as it was right at the entrance about 20 feet from where we where standing... NOPE... We had to wait until someone else came while he checked out 3 other people... I was patient, then up came the manager (silly me for thinking he was going to grab it so I could check out and be on my way... He started checking out the other people who where all behind me... With NO other help in sight coming I walked out!! I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS STORE!!! 40 Minutes in a store to get one thing that no one is capable of helping with is ridiculous! What an utter waste of time... Don't put stuff on high shelves of you don have staff that can take 2 minutes to get them down for...

I had an extremely upsetting interaction at the Woodbury Town Center HomeGoods location today. When I approached the cashier and began placing my items on the counter—focused and silent—the cashier said “hello,” which I didn’t immediately respond to as I was arranging my items. Instead of waiting a moment or continuing professionally, she called over another employee (an Asian woman), who then looked directly at me and said “Ni hao” as if that was appropriate or welcome.
This was not only racially presumptuous and unprofessional, it was dehumanizing. I speak perfect English. I don’t need to be greeted in a language that wasn’t mine just because of how I look. When I confronted the situation by saying “I speak perfect English,” the employee walked away. The cashier didn’t apologize—she just proceeded with the transaction and asked which store I work at when I placed my employee discount card on the counter.
There was zero accountability. No apology. Just quiet dismissal. This kind of racial profiling masked as “customer service” is disgusting.
If you’re a person of color shopping here—be aware. To corporate: Train your staff. This incident has stuck...
Read moreThis is thee worst place to shop. I’m currently sitting in here while my husband is in line, about to pass out bc of how hot it is in here. It is absolutely STIFLING. Us & the other customers we all feel like we’re in a sauna. We’ve been in here for like 30 min & it’s awful. We are residents & this is the 3rd summer we’ve come in & it’s been like this. Feeling horrible for the employees. Also, often some of the things I find have damage & there aren’t any others of them. There is a manager here who NEVER considers kicking the price down a little for the inconvenience & lack of quality. Her response is always, “Well we’re a discount store, so everything here is already discounted.” Come on. Seriously? Homegoods is getting way too full of its self, they’re so expensive actually. Sometimes it’s fun & nice to stop in & find something useful or unique & have it right then & there but Homegoods as a corporate entity should be happy to further discount further damaged items to offload inventory & cater to customer service, lower their pricing since they so rigidly consider themselves a “discount” store & come down to earth, & they should seriously invest in the AC bill for the health & comfort of their customers...
