Well, my laptop had a problem with the charger but I wasn't 100% sure and also it needed a format because it was slow. So, I decided to go to this store, because my previous experience was ok. Jimmy charged $45 to backup all my data and install the Windows 7 again and $35 to make a new charger, but I refused the last one. He said would be ready the next day. The next day (Saturday), I just called to be sure before to drive to the store and somebody else answered the phone. That guy was rude and he asked me to call on Monday, because they are closed on Sunday. I called on Monday in the morning and the same rude guy said the laptop wasn't ready. I asked if there was any problem with my laptop or what was the reason that the job is not done yet and he said "called later when Jimmy is here". I did it and Jimmy answered my call. I asked why the job was taking so long and he said "I got 20 computers waiting to be fixed and some jobs take 30 minutes or 2 days to be fixed". I understood, but I said "Just I'm calling because you said the laptop would be ready on Saturday, but I'll call tomorrow (Tuesday) again". On Tuesday I didn't call because I understood he needed more time. I tried to understand him thinking "I don't like pressure on me and it's not a pleasure to work under those circumstances", so I though "just give him another day without calling". I called on Wednesday a noon and Jimmy said "Your laptop is ready to go". I picked up the laptop and I was waiting for the DVD with my backup and he said "there is no backup". I thought he was kidding, but he tried to explain that the hard disk got problems and all data was lost. I was upset. I said "Jimmy my laptop had no problem with the hard disk, you checked the charger and that was the problem" and he asked me if I got any back up of my data. I said "I don't have any back up that's why I came here to make a backup" I asked him "do you know how to restore all my data from the hard disk?" and he answered "No, I'm sorry, I don't know" Well I don't have more than 5 years trying to learn about computers and after this, I learned how to restore my data, so I did, and I got all my data restored. Jimmy said he got years and years of experience, but this issue is for beginners or unprofessional people. He said was just a mistake, his mistake. I was refunded my...
Read moreThis is the only computer store in the metroplex I trust - MUST READ. Earlier this year I had a hinge go out on my laptop. I called other local shops and sight-unseen they said they'd need to order a new frame from the manufacturer, hundreds of dollars and months in the shop. I called a major retailer with GeekSquad and they told me "We know how to fix it - it's a known issue. You need to run screws through the frame into the screen itself. Our corporate policy won't let us do it due to the risk though." I called Jimmy and described the issue - and he had the same conclusion. He told me he could have it done in an afternoon. $99 to do what others can't or won't. Later this year the other side started to go out, I told him about this and he fixed the other side for just $20 AND he had it done in 2 hours so I could get it on my lunch break.
Cannot recommend this location more highly. Yeah there's constant construction in front of the place, it's worth it. Might be easier to park at the church next door...
Read moreExtremely overpriced and dishonest. I brought my computer in for a simple power supply replacement, which should’ve cost around $80. Instead, he insisted the issue wasn’t the power supply and charged me $170 for a GTX 760 I didn’t ask for(for refrence, a brand new 760 gtx is 70$, using being 30$,and the one he gave me was practically at the end of its life span,). One month later, the power supply failed, just like I originally suspected. Then, two months after that, with only light use, the $30 GTX 760 he installed burned out. To make things worse, he took my fully working GTX 980 and swapped it with a broken GTX 1080, claiming it was the original card. I have before and after pictures proving it wasn’t. Overall, the pricing was outrageous, the communication was poor, and the service was shady. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and...
