Went to school there (grades 1-8) from the late 50’s to the mid 60’s. The Sisters of Notre Dame were tough. My 8th grade teacher, Sister Leonice was mean and liked to hit the boys. My 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Scott hated boys, We had morning homework checkers for each row and she never chose a boy for the entire year. I had some great teachers. Mrs. Bell (4th grade) was always happy and was very patient. I remember my wonderful year with her to this day and it still makes me smile. Sister Ronald, my first grade teacher was so loving and helpful. We went to mass every day before school and were expected to meet our class members for mass on Sundays.
