Fish catch market — Restaurant in Irvington

I visited this fish market last Saturday (I don’t live in the area) and bought tiger shrimp that were completely rotten. The smell was so strong it hit me in the car right after leaving the store. I thought I stepped in something, but once I got home, it was clear — the shrimp were green in some areas and completely spoiled. I had to immediately wrap them up just to contain the smell.

I tried to reach the store that same day, but they have no phone number listed anywhere. Today (Wednesday), I returned to explain the situation in person. I’ve been there before, so the guys recognized me — they always flirt when I come in. But this time, when I calmly explained the issue, they were rude, dismissive, and aggressive. One older man with white hair actually told me to “shut up and go” after offering more shrimp — which I absolutely did not want.

The shrimp were clearly bad, and trying to replace spoiled food with more seafood from the same place is not a solution. I spent $35, and even though the salmon I bought smelled fresh, I ended up tossing it too because I couldn’t trust the quality anymore.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable — selling spoiled food and then being hostile when a customer raises a valid concern is extremely unprofessional. I won’t be returning, and I recommend others take their...

This employee was trying to say my card declined but it didn’t i retrieved the receipt but ask for a refund because his attitude was horrible. He was profiling because i wore a bonnet. he proceeded to say i have to come back for a refund then began smirking and laughing in my face. I started to make a tiktok about it. I had an excellent experience at Fish Catch Market! The seafood was incredibly fresh and of top quality. You can really tell they take pride in sourcing and handling their products. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all my questions about different types of fish and how to cook them.

The store was clean, well-organized, and had a great selection—not just fish, but also shrimp, crabs, and other seafood options. Prices were fair for the quality, and everything I bought tasted amazing when cooked at home.
