J-KINDRED — Local services in Islamorada

When I reached out to J Kindred about doing wedding hair and makeup for my mother, my bridesmaids, and myself (7 total), I immediately knew they were the right fit. They offered to close down the entire salon for us for the day of our wedding, coordinated THE BEST hair and makeup artists (we love you, Erin and Christina!), and let us know we were welcome to bring mimosas, snacks, and whatever else we might need as we take over the salon for the day. The day of, Erin and Christina worked their magic bringing each lady’s unique vision to life. They were an absolute blast to hang out with, and they paid such attention to detail not only to our hair and makeup, but also to ensuring we made ourselves at home. Erin even picked out special pearl bobby pins for my hair that got compliments all night, and Christina made sure my mimosa was never empty as she gave me the ultimate glow up makeup! It was such a weight off of my shoulders to know that I could dance my heart out all night and not have to worry about my hair falling out or my makeup running. In fact, my hair made it through a full day of photos, hours on the dance floor, a rainstorm dance party, and a swim in the ocean without coming undone. Kudos to you, ladies! Cut the back of my neck with razor all the way across. They left 30 volume dye on my head for over an hour. She actually STOPPED applying color and picked up her phone to text her fiance about plans after work (it was 10:30am). She ran out of color in the middle of applying (even though I said that my hair is very porous!) It took her 10 minutes in the back mixing up more color and it burned my head! You can see how red my scalp is in the photo. I called and left a message that I wanted to come in to see what they could do to fix the mess on my head and got NO RESPONSE! This place is fine for back-to-school teen hair cuts, but don't go here unless you want to leave looking like...

I walked in with what can only be described as a bird's nest piled on top of my head. It was dried out, and had the texture of hay. Yet, Erin, who I believe is a goddess of hair, took that hot mess and made it something to be proud of. Upon leaving, I thought, it will never look this good again... Within the hour, I was right back in the salty water. Wait for it, after a wash, and more magical anti frizzing serum... BAM! Still amazing hair. I am so beyond happy, because folks I was contemplating a pixie cut. I am so disappointed I didn't go in sooner. I can not recommend this salon, and the ladies...
