Serenity Hair Salon — Local services in Jackson Township

I went here a few times and had a great experience every time with Carly. I always either get a trim and/or highlights. Nothing extreme. One time I was due yet again for a hair cut and partial highlights. Unfortunately, Carly was unavailable and away for awhile. I didn't want to wait for her to return because I had an event scheduled, and I figured someone else who works there would be fine. So, I agreed to schedule with a different person. Big mistake. The entire time the lady thought it would be ok to bash other clients behind their backs to me. She rushed through my hair, and nearly forgot to place a towel around my neck for the highlights. While combing and blow drying my hair, she was so rough! My head was literally hurting and she was rushing the whole time. She repeatedly made rude comments about others, and even towards me. She said to me, "I don't know why you think you are due for highlights but I guess I'll slap some dye on you." I truly don't know why I continued to sit there suffering through it. When it was finally over, I really did not want to pay because it was such awful service and I had a horrible time. But not wanting to be a "Karen" or cause a scene, I paid but I never went back again. It's a shame because Carly did do a good job and she was always nice, but that lady truly ruined the whole place for me. I had the absolute worst experience at Serenity. I went there to get my hair colored and got nothing that i asked for, I ended up with orange ombre. After spending $150 on something that I was unhappy with, I went back two days later asking for what I originally wanted again. They put the color and wrap in my hair and then it started getting hot. The lady told me that it was normal and that she will get water to cool it down, when she left all of a sudden my hair started to burn really bad along with my scalp, I looked in the mirror and my hair was literally smoking!! She panicked and ran me to the sink to put cold water on it. While washing my hair she kept saying the sink was getting clogged, little did I know, it was my burnt off hair that clogged it! I am now missing a foot of hair from my head, my hair is so damaged and dead now. The lady lied to me and told me that it was just a few baby hairs that were sticking out and that was normal. I looked and so much hair was gone!! I talked to the owner and all she could say was sorry and that it was a learning experience for the stylist, however I didn't want to be the guinea pig!! I asked for my money back and was told that she has to talk that over with her business partner and that she would let me know the following day if I was able to get my money back. I have never had a worse experience, I am scarred for life now, NEVER GO...

I would not recommend this salon. I called and asked for someone that Specialize in the blond hair Coloring.I have an icy blonde and needed to do my roots,I told them that I am Afraid to change hairdressers but we just moved into area And I want to find someone. I have asked multiple times If they know what they doing that I don’t want my hair strawberry,yellow ...atc. I come in for my appointment and I am telling young lady please do not make my hair yellow .In the process I am telling her that it looks yellow, and she’s reassuring me that it’s the light . I come home look in the mirror, my husband and we both say it’s yellow. I went back and They tried to fix it but it doesn’t work ,i have 3 different colors and I can’t even look at myself in the mirror.That was before Christmas.iMessaged them privately on Facebook sending them pictures of my hair......Of course no response.As I am looking for a new hair salons this name comes up....Although I don’t write bad reviews I just had to do it.It’s winter and I wear hats because in the daylight it looks horrible.My point is that if you don’t have experience with Blond hair Coloring just please admit it, not everything is...
