This theater has really gone downhill. They didn’t have anything to eat except popcorn and out of a lot of different drinks.
It was dirty and the bathroom had paper all over the floor and needed to be cleaned. This place used to be so nice but no longer. Unfortunately I don’t think I will go back.
Update: August 2023. I had no plans to go back after my last experience but we went for the $4 movie day. I feel it is more between one and two stars. The bathroom was better cleaned and it appeared staffed well. There was staff at the entrance and taking tickets. Only one at the bar and half of frozen options were not available. I did see the floor in the theater was cleaner and witnessed staff coming in after the show to sweep.
The concession has more food available but still not enough. They had sold out of nachos and I asked if there was anymore coming and was told no. Keep in mind they had the cheese and the chips are in an individual bag. I then asked about pretzel bites and was told they only had regular pretzels. When I looked at them the 3 available were extremely burnt. Popcorn was still not good. How do you offer $4 movies which will fill up the place and not make enough food or in some cases not at all! They need to take their “menu” down because you look at it and laugh. We actually went to see two movies and ended up going to McD and brought it in with us. I understand good at movies is expensive but it is incredibly expensive here without the quality and selection to make it worth while. The boxed candy is good.
The seats we had were decent but when it was reclined there was a bunch of trash underneath. Also, my phone got a little lodged in the seat and when I went to pull it out it was absolutely disgusting. I don’t think they have ever been deep cleaned.
I do like the seats and enjoyed Gran Torismo in the upgraded sound theater. Great .
So my biggest complaints are still regarding cleanliness of the the theaters and the concession stand. I would prefer this theater over Orange Park but the quality there way...
Read moreWe have been coming to the Epic Theatres at Oakleaf since it opened and have probably spent over $3,000 at this establishment collectively.
We have never had a problem getting an additional bag or bowl for the children to use when we buy a large popcorn and drinks for everyone in our party of 5. Easily a $100-$150 event each time we go to the movies. Today the staff informed us that they were out of the “share bags” but refused to come up with another solution to make it right. We spoke with a shift lead and the manager on duty. They said that in order for us to get an additional bag or bowl we would have to be charged for it because they are inventoried on a very strict restrictions and “cannot” make any exceptions. She’s the manager, she could have made an exception if she wanted to. We moved along and paid for our snacks and refreshments.
When my boyfriend went back to get a “refill” of the popcorn he walked up to two staff members gossiping about the situation and they didn’t notice he approached them and was standing there listening to them go on and on about our situation. When they finally noticed him standing there they stopped talking, like two deers in headlights. He told them that they can continue their conversation and both of the staff members rolled their eyes and one walked away.
While the additional bag was a minor situation, the part that drove me to decide my family will never spent another penny at this theatre was the complete disrespect and down right terrible customer service.
Today was the most unfriendly staff and experience we’ve ever had at a movie theatre. I will gladly give my money to AMC or...
Read moreI hate to write this review. My husband and I ONLY come to this theater because we love the seats, the staff, the snacks and the theater...but tonight we paid $45 total for a movie and it got completely ruined by the family next to us. A mom, dad, and their two daughter's at the 11pm showing of Wonder Woman in the XL theater. The mom was on her phone the entire movie and had the brightness on her screen turned up to the brightest setting possible. Their two daughters talked, and played with the chair setting the entire movie. The mom and two daughters were not interested in the movie. My husband got up and talked with a manager, and he had a staff member give the family a warning. Well, the mom continued to stay on her phone, and the daughters continued to play with the chair, giggling because I guess they thought the chair making squeaking noises was funny, and they continued to talk as well. The dad OR mom NEVER said a word to their kids. Lately it seems like everytime we visit the theater we have some kind of issue with sitting next to the most inconsiderate people in the theater. I think maybe having staff walk up and down the stairs in each theater to possibly keep an eye on these inconsiderate people, maybe would help that situation. We love this theater and I always have positive things to say, and this review is not being negative towards to staff nor theater itself. But tonight the family sitting next really showed how rude, inconsiderate, and selfish people can be. If you dont want to see the movie, then DON'T GO and ruin the movie for the...
