Should have looked at the reviews before we came here but I can confirm there is a server/ waitress that is rude who is still employed there whose name on our receipt is Tamara. First and last time coming here. The waitress took a long time to even greet us or get in our drink orders. We sat at our table for a while before anyone came to our table. Then after she came back with our drinks she asked if we were ready to order and we said yes. We ordered appetizers and were ready to order our entrees as well but she just walked away and said she'll be back and I'm sitting there stunned like what. After a very long time she came back to place our order for dinner. After a while I noticed our waitress going outside and sitting down at a guests table and talking and we could see her going out there multiple times to sit down. My husband went to the hostess to ask about our food since our waitress didn't seem at all concerned about doing her job, the hostess went to get her and she came to our table and told us if everything was okay and my husband said we wanted to cancel our order because it's taking too long and she said it's only been 7 min since the order was placed. We've been here a long time waiting and if it's not ready we are leaving. 5 min later she came out with our order which was incomplete and missing 1 chicken tenders each for our kids since we were told it comes with 4 tenders and only came with 3 pieces. My food was just okay but my husband had rotten cilantro on his 3 tacos and sent it back because he didn't want to eat anything with rotten cilantro in it. He didn't want to order anything else from the kitchen after that. Our waitress came back 5 min later to ask if everything was okay again and if we wanted to go boxes. My husband asked if she was kicking us out and she said no, no and they left it at that. The feeling of not wanting us there was strong with this waitress. We called over the manager Daisy, which I'm shocked she didn't come over before when she was told about the rotten cilantro, and she said oh yeah I heard about the cilantro and we replaced it. And we complained about our server and how unprofessional it is to see our waitress sitting down with a guest at a table outside and she proceeded to tell us well it's okay if the guest says it's okay for them to sit down. She did apologize for the waitresses behavior and all but after that I was just like nope to the conversation because apparently it's okay for a waitress to sit down and chit chat with guests while they are working. It wasn't just our waitress going outside to sit down and chit chat either so... No wonder there is complaints for long wait times for food/service. Unprofessional/rude waiters and a Manager who sees no issues/has no concerns with a waitress sitting down on the job at another customers table to chit chat. Do not recommend anyone to eat here. Food is obviously not that...
Read moreWell well well, it’s been 6 years since I’ve been to a La Nop and my Dad was wanting Tacos. Everything in me told me not to go and make the trip to Salsas, but I just didn’t want to deal with the traffic, so I said let’s give Oakleaf a shot since we already know Roosevelt sucks. Let me start out saying Service was Great. It then started when I asked for a side of sour cream with the chips and salsa and they gave me a half ounce condiment cup which would barely go with a bite of food. Salsa had no heat and was basically tomato sauce. We let it go thinking I’ll just ask for more if my meal doesn’t come with “salad” like it usually does. I order a Enchiladas dinner and my Father orders his tacos and a Chile Rellano. My dad has never been to La Nop and has owned a Mexican restaurant in California for 20 years so knows Mexican food. His exact words were “you can tell a lot in a restaurant by what the Rellano looks like”. Food comes quickly and my dad starts laughing looking at the Rellano. You couldn’t see the Chile because it was covered in beans and queso and when he scraped that off he thought his eyes were playing tricks because a jalepeno was uncovered that was about as big as his thumb. I’m not going to go into what a Rellano is because if you know you know. Just know it’s not suppose to be a JALEPENO!!!!!!!! We go on to eat our food. My Enchiladas came with no salad like any normal place puts on the plate. IE. (Lettuce, Sour Cream, pico and Guacamole) So I asked for another side of sour cream. She brings out another condiment cup so I use that and go on eating. Rice was dry, beans were fine. Queso is awesome. Basically the food just filled the void and lacked any type of flavor or authenticity. Bill comes and they charge 1.49$ for each sour cream. Are you kidding me!!!! Any normal restaurant charges that for a salsa size bowl of sour cream. I just chalk this up as a L and say next time we make the drive and go somewhere that actually cares. I will now continue my streak of never going to La Nop and will laugh at any of my friends who ask if I want to go. On the plus side their Margaritas are amazing and I’m not here to bad mouth everything about them because I clearly give credit when it’s due. Beware if your going for good food you won’t get any. Fortunately for them I don’t think many people in Jax know good Mexican food because if La Nop was in a place like California or Texas they would be out...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting this location but I love the franchise brand and I ALWAYS refer people visiting the region to visit the airport location. However, today I decide to try this location. The atmosphere was very chill for a late Saturday afternoon. I sat outside. I waited 15 mins for the server to bring chips and salsa and she inquired about my order and I explained that I was seated without a menu. She proceeds to turn the napkin counter and explains that normally there is a QR code to scan for the menu. She goes to 2 more tables before she finds a QR code for me to scan. I place a drink order for the classic margarita. Upon her return I place my food order. She never tells me her name. I was at this location for 2 hours. I had to go inside after 20 mins from finishing my first margarita to order another margarita. 10 mins later a young woman who wasn't my sever asked what my order was and then goes back inside. 15 mins later my server asks what order was I trying to place in which I shared I wanted another margarita. I get my margarita 15 mins later. Keep in mind it is not crowded at all. My server shares she was busy making a fresh batch of sangrias. 30 mins later I finish my frozen margarita. I wait on my server. I have no water and my food is now cold. I give up waiting on my server another 20 mins later and head inside to ask for my check and a to go water. I really wanted a third margarita. Someone finds my server after a 3 minute wait. I learn the other woman cashing out had the same server which is why she was leaving the establishment. I paid for my check and left. This was the first time is 10 years I did not leave a tip. The nachos and 2 margaritas were good but the customer service I received was poor. I love this food chain and make sure when I have friends visiting the city from out of town and abroad to make sure they try the margaritas because they are amazing I mean that with all my heart. I am truly disappointed on the service I received. Hopefully others have an better experience. For the near future I will be traveling to the airport location when in...
