Island Flava Caribbean Grocery & Meat — Local services in Jacksonville

Months previous to our visit, I had bought a discounted coupon on clipp.com - note that they are no longer participating in that program - just want to warn anyone who is considering a coupon purchase. That said, all hot meals come out of a food truck parked in front of the store. The grill was going when we arrived so we knew the food would be good. And it was. We both had jerk chicken because that's all that was included with the coupon. But we were very satisfied with the (leg and thigh) chicken and sides of sautéed cabbage and rice with peas - both very flavorful, especially the very generous portion of rice, where every grain of rice was separate and coated in deliciousness. I’m from NC but I know good food when I see it. Hands down my favorite rice and peas and jerk chicken. His spices is just right to where I can actually eat it and finish without my @$$hole and lips being on FIRE! I believe he has a sweet sauce that’s goes on the chicken if so I LOVE IT. He gives a crazy helping of rice and peas lol ok with me because it’s just that darn good. I have tried the jerk pork not a fan of that at all. Tried the oxtails today and I fell in love with this meal too. Ohhh yeah he has a grocery store I always go in and try different drinks. I'm so grateful I found this store. Been craving a few Jamaican items and snacks, and out of curiosity I did a google search, read the reviews and decided to check it out, and was beyond impressed that they had everything I could've imagined. Although I visited when a variety of food items are out, I'm excited to go back when restocked. Great owners and I definitely became a frequent shopper...
