River City Charters — Local services in Jacksonville

I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my trips with River City Charters, and Captain Travis. Our first adventure was inshore, where we landed a bull red while sitting in the middle of a bunch of other boats who weren’t catching much. My husband and our sons and daughter in law screamed so much, I’m afraid we may have made some folks a little jealous. :). After that awesome fight, and release, we headed out into the flats, where my sons, who enjoy bass fishing, were thrilled as we trolled through and they were sight casting. It was a wonderful trip, and Captain Travis was super, and made the it feel like a family party. We went again this year, just my husband and I, and this time we went 10 miles off the coast, looking for some Kingfish and Cobia. We landed a Kingfish almost right away, and then as Captain Travis took us around a sunken ship, we managed two kingfish at the same time!! Captain Travis did an amazing job of helping my husband and I get moved around the boat, and he even was thoughtful enough to snag a video of us both side by side during the fights! (Wow, Kingfish will really give you the adrenaline rush when they take off running!) I have so enjoyed going out with River City Charters, I went ahead and booked another trip right away for next month, I really recommend this company, and Captain Travis, the atmosphere is laid back, the boat is awesome and he really knows what he is...

Just went out on a cold windy day with Captain Travis on a 6 hour trip. Despite the less than ideal conditions Captain Travis used his expirence to help us immediately catch a couple red drum. He brought us to multiple good spots and got us hooked up. When those stopped biting he went to our next planned spot and helped us nab a couple trout . Then later in the day found us a great spot where we caught a bunch of 15 inch red drums. Despite the bad weather and cold conditions Travis gave us 110% and helped us tag a couple nice ones. He’s more than willing to switch spots as much as needed to get a fish and he used top tier bait to make sure we had the best chance to catch fish .We were able to keep 4 of our fish. 2 sea trout and 2 red drums. Caught so many drum I lost count . If you’re looking for a captain to hook you up on some red drum or someone with a great knowledge of the area to help you find a different target species Captain Travis would be an excellent choice. Took my son Cole out for a day of Kingfishing!

Started along the beach where Travis caught 5-6 dozen pogies with his cast nest. My son, Cole, enjoyed and helped assist loading the live well.

No hits near the beach so Travis took us about 7 miles offshore. Nothing their either. But we were still having an amazing day! Travis was very engaging and he and my son hit it off from the start.

Off to our 3rd spot where Cole pulled in a nice sized Cuda of about 18lbs.

To the last spot - where the action happened!

We pulled in two nice kings - an Amberjack and a huge red snapper!

Amazing day - amazing Captain! River City is top shelf and Travis a true pro!
