Updated review 7/7/25: We ordered an Original Fredgie Dog and a Carolina Dog for me and an Original Fredgie Dog and a Chicago Dog for my husband. All four dogs were delicious and filling. So much so that my husband couldn't finish his Chicago Dog. He normally likes spicy peppers, but they were too spicy 🥵 for him. The owners keep the place looking so cute with plants, flowers, umbrellas for shade, and a nice view of the Indian River with it's waterfowl birds. Today there was a wonderful breeze keeping us cool in this Florida summer heat. We were looking forward to coming here for a couple of weeks and were not disappointed. Without a doubt, we'll be back and highly recommend it. This was our second visit. This time we had a Fredgie's original and a Carolina Dog that we shared. Both so very good. The Carolina Dog had the special chilli with peanut butter plus was topped with Cole slaw. The Cole slaw gave it a nice sweet balanced flavor. The location on the Indian River is so pretty. It was a gorgeous day and they have added lots of flowers and potted plants to enhance your relaxing experience. It's such a nice locals hidden find. 😋😋 A year ago: We had a Fredgie's Dog and a Chicago Dog. The Fredgie's Dog had peanut butter and chili, with spicy mustard on a Texas Toast bun. Although it sounds like an unusual combination, it was delicious. The Chicago Dog had pepper, tomato, onions, relish, spicy mustard, on a toasted Hot Dogs bun. It was, also, delicious and a few of the peppers were fairly spicy. Overall, we enjoyed both dogs. The lady told us about the history of Fredgie's Dog and they are close to their 40th year in business. She also said no one has disliked the Fredgie's Dog. The service was fast and friendly. There are several tables under umbrellas right on the inland waterway with a nice breeze and a pretty view. The perfect spot for a nice...
Read moreUpdated after reading the 1 star reviews: You are definitely full of it. They have the back door to the kitchen open you can CLEARLY see them cook. Big deal if the table is dirty its outside there are only 2 working usually there. It is under trees it gets messy what do you expect when in things are in the open? You don't like it take it to go they are not forcing you to sit. Btw its a food truck they have VERY STRICK HEALTH CODES and are in business still. They are not a corporate business the hours they keep are their choice. They work volume (busiest in case you don't know) hours for business.
I have nothing to do with the business but I have been coming here for 7 years and it's always AMAZING.
The best hotdogs around. The fredgies original is amazing. I was nervous to try the original 7 years ago but did it anyway and got hooked soo long ago on those originals. It was best hotdog I've ever had. I RECOMMEND THEM...
Read moreHave been coming here for years and I absolutely love the food. Whoever was working closed an hour early and complained about making $200 in 5 hours and how slow it was, while simultaneously closing an hour early and turning 3 customers away. Most ppl don’t get off work until 5PM.. I suspect business would pick up in the next hour. Serving dinner might also help! I crave these hot dogs after work and I very rarely get to get out early like I did today. Very disappointed but will always come back. Love you this place ❤️
Reply to Freddie’s: It was clear skies, check the date and weather of the day of the review if need be. I said nothing about your food but compliments. And if it really was bad weather, you got 3+ customers outside ready to wait in the rain and you can’t cook a couple dogs under a covered van? This is Florida, It rains EVERYDAY! No wonder there isn’t enough...
