The trays were filled with perfectly seasoned rice and tender, flavorful chicken. The food was not only delicious but also much appreciated by everyone in the community. I ordered the DiBi chicken and Lamb mix with white rice. This was my first time having food from this restaurant and i must say i’ll definitely be going back to the restaurant ! The establishment was clean and seemed to be a family owned business. For the food i must say it was soul touching this is what i’d call soul food. Usually i wait to post a review till i try a few other dishes but this time on my first order i had to post my review. Grilled to perfection the smokey taste and seasonings were a great combo together. There were other sauces that came with the order but honestly the meat was so flavorful it didn’t need the sauce. The best Senagalese food we have had in a long time. We have tried many Senegalese restaurants in NYX and even in Newark. From the moment we called Mawo’s Kitchen to place our order, the warmth and professionalism was felt through the phone. The restaurant itself is quaint, cozy and clean. The food is amazing. Huge portions, we got grilled fish and plantains, thieboudienne and dibi. The best thebiddionne I ever had, the onion sauce/yassa is to die for. We will be back next week and will try the shawarma sandwhich as well. I’m so happy we have this restaurant so close...
