I will start this review by saying I think most of the nail techs at this salon are lovely and communicate well with their clients, I however have a huge issue with the management and how they run this business.
I went in for UV hard gel with gel polish. Tiffany did my nails and she was so communicative prior to my appointment. My nails were just fine, the application wasn't the best that I've had, a little sloppy around my cuticles and around the edges but I was fine with it.
All was well until the next day when I woke up the next morning with skin sensitivity, swelling, and redness around my cuticles and finger tips, which I can identify as contact dermatitis. I quickly communicate with Tiffany and she responds back immediately letting me know I can come by anytime to get them removed and get this figured out. I go to the salon to remove them (Tiffany isn't there) but a nail tech named Angel helped me, letting me know that they can offer me the removal and a 50% refund for the set I paid for on the previous day. Now normally I would've asked for a full refund as it hasn't even been 24 hours since having the nails, but I agreed to it because I understand they need to pay their employees and Tiffany did still work on my nails. I get them removed, and Angel helps me get refunded when another older woman working there approaches her and asks her about what she is doing and yells at her right in front of me at the register telling her that they do not do refunds and if they are refunding me the 50% then they will be taking the money from Tiffany. This made me extremely uncomfortable and I do not agree with this decision of taking money out of their nail techs pay. Management clearly do not care about their employees nor take care of them which is my main issue. The older woman proceeds to offer to give me another manicure instead, but I refuse as I literally have contact dermatitis and the skin and nails around my fingers are extremely sensitive and itchy. At this point I'm feeling like this is so ridiculous to be fighting over $36 to make things right with me, a paying customer. After some long back and forth Angel talks to another owner or manager (not sure) on the phone and essentially tells me that the owner/manager is refusing to give me a refund (despite offering prior to my removal) and that will be it. I'm standing there after standing for about 5-10 of everyone yelling at each other and now I'm leaving the salon with no nails, dermatitis, and lost 80 dollars in disbelief. Angel was extremely apologetic and I understand that she can't do anything about it so I grab her manager/owner (her name is Jessica)'s phone number and give her a call, where she continues to go in circles about this 50% refund which I also believe is less than what should be offered, and continues to refuse until I tell her I will write a negative review and tell all of my friends not to support this business. She then offers a 50% off coupon as a final offer (which I personally do not care for after this whole debacle and the amount of back and forth that had to be done to get to this point) but I accept it.
The way this business is managed is so wrong and I can no longer support a business that isn't willing to make things right with their customers and employees and take care of those who support their business. Totally unacceptable and super unprofessional behavior from the management at this establishment which is a huge shame because the employees are so kind and helpful. Not a good...
Read moreBooked a Russian manicure for over $100. Did not receive one - it ended up being a gel manicure essentially. Russian manicures are meant to be dry manicures - they soaked my nails in water and didn’t have the proper equipment to remove my previous base color. I’ve been getting these types of manicures for years so I am very familiar with the process. Reached out to the shop following my appt and requested my nails be fixed and was reassured that I would be assigned with the technician that specializes in Russian manicures. I altered my work schedule, got to the salon, and was told that they were unaware of my appointment and that the technician was out sick (no notice given to me). I would use caution when booking.
EDITED: shortly after my review, I got invited to come back and get my nails redone. I decided to take them up on their offer. It was explained to me that only two technicians in the salon were able to do the Russian manicures. The head technician completed my Russian manicure with precision and skill. I will be returning to work with her again. I appreciate the customer service. The photo of the pink/nude nails are the most recent. I will be changing my star from 1 to 4 now.
7/8 and 7/10 update - I’ll start off by saying that my previous 4 star experience was with Tammy. That’s the only tech I would recommend however it’s very difficult to get an appointment with her. I tried another tech/maybe one of the new owners? (Unsure). I’ve realized the issue is that they overbook or don’t book properly. I called on Monday and asked to have my Wednesday appt moved to Tuesday - they confirmed. Once I got to the salon, they said they did not have me in the system and that I’d have to wait. I waited for 20 minutes as I had a broken nail and really needed to get it fixed. I’ve been to other salons where they will silk wrap the nail or use builder …. This tech went straight to tips. There was difficulty understanding my concern so I went along with it. I ended up having to ask a bunch of times to make my shape better, to slow down as the machines were burning my fingers, etc. Additionally, my tech was answering phones and checking in guests all throughout my experience - prolonging the process. Ultimately I decided that I wouldn’t like the end result and just had her finish up. The next day, I noticed that my nail was lifting (one of the nails she repaired and put a tip on). I called and she told me to come back so I did (today). Firstly, she was still answering the phones and dealing with customer - I requested that she not do that as I had other appointments to get to. She proceeded to put acrylic on my nails which she had to remove once I told her I use builder gel. She wanted to guess which color I originally used despite me asking to see the swatches multiple times. I got my nail repaired and sadly that will be the last time I go. I would rather make the trip/tolls to Brooklyn for...
Read moreI used to love this place—the vibes were unmatched, the staff was super nice, and the space itself is beautiful. But everything changed when we had to deal with an unexpected situation.
My elderly family member was admitted to the hospital and couldn’t make her appointment. Instead of showing any understanding, they made the situation incredibly difficult and borderline hostile. When I tried to book a new appointment, the card kept getting declined, and all appointment times appeared blocked. After texting them, I was told only one early morning time was available for the next two days—despite seeing other openings.
To make it even worse, they encourage you to use their booking site, but when I tried, they told me they actually prefer phone calls instead. The inconsistency and lack of professionalism were shocking. As someone with experience managing booking systems, it became clear that we were likely being intentionally blocked for missing an appointment due to illness.
They will be super nice to you in the beginning, and the place is undeniably beautiful—but don’t get sick or have an emergency. This business lacks compassion and basic decency.
If you’re elderly, sick, or someone who may experience unexpected circumstances, stay far away. They only seem to value perfectly healthy, “reliable” customers. Their handling of the situation wasn’t just disappointing—it was cruel.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values respect and professionalism in their service providers. I guess upon reading this I guess it’s safe to say I won’t be keeping my...
