In Mid-October 2015, At 61, overweight and horribly out of shape and newly retired, I had to make a change. That saying "If not now, then when?" had been playing through my head. The personal trainer idea in a small studio was appealing. I knew I needed a focused approach that forced me to stay committed to succeed. I signed up for eight weeks of four personal training sessions per week. Crazy, right?? Just before the holidays. But it was the best decision I've ever made. At the end of the eight weeks I had lost 10% body fat. Clothes are falling off. I've taken my fat, fat clothes to Goodwill. I don't have to buy 1X or 2x anymore. I can shop in the regular clothes section. And I survived thanksgiving and Chrisrmas without packing on weight. I'm so happy with the program that I have committed to continuing this full on approach through the end of March. After that I'll start participating in their group classes. The smallness of the studio is one of the things I like. You get to know all of the trainers. Not just the one you work with. They all have different specialties. And there is a holistic vibe. Every workout my trainer asks me what I've eaten that day and what I'm planning for dinner. They make sure you drink water. There's a fruit bowl at the counter. This is the most physically demanding thing I've ever committed to. It's very hard work. But this particular combination of people and environment and variety of workouts is working for me. I had almost lost hope that I would ever get in shape. But this place is working for me. I am more energetic, am moving better, am thrilled knowing that every time I try on something from my closet it will not only fit but may even be too big now, and I feel very optimistic about the years ahead with a healthier body. I don't write many reviews, but this has been life changing for me and I needed to share my experience with anyone who may be thinking they will never be in shape.    Read moreLets just start by saying that I have a gym membership at a big gym and I just don't like to go. I'm not good at setting a time and working out by myself. I just don't like it at all. I just finished the 8 week period at Fitness Together and even though I am not a scale watcher...I feel so much better and I know I've lost inches pretty much everywhere. I love that I am working out with others. That in itself is very motivating. It is also like social hour for me. The trainers that I've had are fantastic! Heather is so motivating and kind. She is meticulous about stretching and the quality of the movement so we don't hurt ourselves. She has been awesome modifying for my shoulder issues. She consistently shows 3 ways of doing an exercise so each person can challenge themselves accordingly. In her packs, I am confident that I am getting the most out of my workouts. Demetrius is also a master motivator. His workouts are challenging and fun. He has been awesome at modifying my workouts also. He is tough but makes you WANT to get through it. He somehow knows what you can do. I'm getting mobility back in my shoulder and am almost pain free. I don't need to go to therapy anymore.
