UPDATED:
I previously shared a negative experience at Belén de la Cruz Empanadas on September 3rd, where I felt disappointed by the service I received. I arrived at 6:25 pm to place an order for a cake and 12 empanadas, and after waiting nearly 30 minutes, I was told the empanadas were “too frozen” to prepare before closing. The solution offered, taking them home frozen at full price, felt dismissive and unprofessional. I left frustrated, having wasted time and feeling unheard.
However, after posting my review, I had a long and sincere conversation with the owner, who personally reached out to acknowledge the unfortunate service I experienced. She took full ownership of the incident and offered a heartfelt apology. I truly appreciated her willingness to listen, take accountability, and express genuine regret for how things unfolded.
As someone who understands the dedication and hard work it takes to build and run a business, I also recognize that sometimes things go wrong due to circumstances beyond one’s control, especially when it comes to the behavior of others on the team. The owner’s response showed me that she cares deeply about her customers and the reputation of her business.
I accepted the apology, and we were able to sort things out respectfully. My family and I will continue to be customers of Belén de la Cruz Empanadas, and we sincerely hope that this incident leads to improved customer service training for the staff. A little extra care and professionalism can go a long way in ensuring every customer feels valued.
Thank you again to the owner for your honesty and for making...
Read moreEmpanadas were great, my Wife enjoyed them more since she’s Colombian. It’s going to be difficult coming back a 2nd time after the strange encounter (this being our first visit.) when I first entered the store, some older lady was standing by the cash register. At first, I thought it was a customer because she didn’t greet me at all and made it awkward with eye contact and not friendly at all. She left the store, and came back right before I was checking out. She just stood right in front of where you pay and didn’t say a word. I then noticed something was off since the young lady was looking at me wondering why I haven’t paid yet. I then went to pay and felt very uncomfortable with how this older lady was hovering over me and not saying a word. I left a nice tip because I felt like this lady was being difficult to the young girl cashier. After I checked out, I realized that this older lady works there!! My wife and I are fluent in Spanish, and we were only greeted in English. When we stepped to the side, the older lady was giving the girl a tough time for no reason trying to correct everything. The young lady was perfect! For the older lady… you need to be more respectful to your customers. I felt so out of place and confused by the interaction with her. That being said, I can not support this business until management...
Read moreFirst time here, even drove here from Flowery Branch because there's been lots of hype around this place and even read an article over it.
The place itself is a 5-star, cute, clean, and cozy. The woman behind the counter was friendly and even recommended some pastries, though I stuck with only empanadas.
I was super excited to try this place out and was truly left disappointed. I ordered the Cheesy Beef and Cheesy Chicken empanadas. Presentation was a 5-star, they came in organized and marked in a small brown container. The fact they had the type stamped across the empanada made it easy to figure out which one you were eating and not playing Russian roulette. That's where the 5-stars end for me. Taste was 3-star, no frills taste...they were cheesy but very bland on both types and left more to desire. My biggest issue after taste, is the fact they were cold in the middle. The edges could definitely scald you, but the center was not even warm whatsoever.
Maybe I caught them on a bad day or during some time they were having oven issues, I don't know. I like to support Latino business and this place isn't bad at all, but today, the food did...
