Very disappointed in this location. As many others have said, I was very excited to get our very own Aldi in Boones Creek. Kingsport has a wonderful location, while Johnson City does not. This location actually got the management from the Johnson City store. The store is always dirty, smelly and full of unfriendly employees. The store has been open for about 2 1/2 months at this point, and they are struggling to keep shelves stocked. Common items are always out of stock and i'm consistently leaving without what I need. I actually have to go to Food City or Walmart to always get what they don't have in stock. If this company wants to keep its loyal customers or earn new ones, they really should try harder. I've also seen a drop in quality lately. Dairy products, such as cottage cheese or sour cream, tastes very salty or spoiled upon opening, despite a good date. Produce is always picked through and looks aged. Not very happy with this store.
UPDATE 5-9-25: Still not happy with this location. Although the odd stench inside the store seems to have been partly addressed, I still am disappointed with the quality of this store. I recently tried a few products, hoping to possibly switch from Great Value at Walmart, and was completely disgusted with several. Cottage Cheese was very salty, spreadable butter was flavorless, cereals tasted like cardboard, hazelnut spread tasted more like chocolate, and the produce was very bad quality. I was impressed with the breads though. I may not like Walmart, but I'll be sticking with them for the future to maintain quality store brands at a nearly comparable price to Aldi. Sorry Aldi, but you have yet to change my...
Read moreThe management at this store is the worst I’ve ever seen at an Aldi. Totally rude and unprofessional! My bag ripped while leaving the door because of manufacture error and my 2 bottles of wine broke. The manager came out and handed me a roll of paper towels and said here this employee will help you. She then walked off. I asked the employee if they were going to let me get two new bottles since it wasn’t my fault. He asked her and she said yes but got really smart saying I had over packed the bags and it’s on me because I went through self checkout but she was going to let me do it anyway. I go get the bottles and I’m met at the door by an employee who says over the radio “he has two” then proceeds to ask my why? They thought I was steeling I shopped there everyday for as long as it was open. They caused the most embarrassing situation. They asked me to put one back and I said look at my receipt! They did not even APOLOGIZE for her mistake! I Swear as long as I live I will never step foot in the whitewood aldi again! Until they fire or replace this awful manager. She definitely needs to be retrained...
Read moreIndifferent. As someone else wrote - it is wall to wall people. It’s pretty annoying and the worst part of the experience When they’re behind you, you feel like you need to hurry out of their way because everyone in there gives off this “im important” presence. And when you move then you have to circle back to that same area in Hopes the next person won’t rush you… when like you literally JUST got there.
They don’t have boxes for your items at check out. Bring your own bags or pay 12¢ for a paper bag.
Their yogurt section was lacking, but their cheese section was awesome. They got some honey too. Doesn’t look super local but it looks good.
Their box of turtles did not disappoint, if you like whales snacks you’ll love these. Good price and they actually fill the damn bag. Cause we all know how companies are shorting us.
3 star for the annoying people with these jumbo carts. Can’t even put the cart away in peace with out a crowd piling up. Like I just want my 25¢ back.
Walked out the store with one paper bag filled up and was...
