I really wanted to love the food. We’ve been excited about trying it for months after reading about it. Sadly, none of our meals lived up to the hype. $12 Lobster roll had so much salt it was inedible. I honestly thought maybe someone accidentally dumped a bunch of salt in it without realizing it, it was that bad. Green beans so spicy couldn’t finish. $12 Jackfruit bbq sandwich sour because Jackfruit not rinsed or something prior to cooking. Cauliflower bites dry and tasteless. The pretzel bites with cashew cheese dip were good. Cucumber water was nice. Tea was nice. We spent over $60 and ate about $20 worth of food, if that. On the other hand, the woman who took our order could not have been nicer, and the atmosphere was good. But it wasn’t enough to fix the food. We left really disappointed but didn’t say anything because there were a few other parties there and we didn’t want to cause any fuss or influence their dining experiences negatively. Whoever cooks the food either doesn’t taste it before it goes out or their tastebuds are incapable of registering salt or spice level. Such a bummer. Finding good vegan food is difficult in Tennessee, so our bar is pretty low and we do what we can to support vegan cooks, but we won’t come back here without some kind of major change with how the food...
Read moreVisited this spot en route to Maryland. I was hungry and didn't want to eat French fries from Chik fil a so I was excited to see a vegan restaurant.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the meal I was served. I ordered their special of the day which was a "chicken" sandwich and 2 sides for $16. Now I would never pay that much and I wish I knew the total before the food was prepared. It was also packaged in a toxic Styrofoam container and placed in a plastic walmart bag. I got my order to go, but I wasn't given a fork to eat the sides I ordered.
The vegan "chicken" sandwich came with pickles and mayo (see photo) the mayo could have been evenly spread out and same goes for the pickles. The "chicken" used is gardeins ultimate plant based chik'n patties. My first side seasoned potatoes was alright they were kind of dry though and my other side was canned green beans. Once I saw that the green beans were not fresh and were instead canned and probably heated up in a microwave I was heated and I immediately wish I never left a tip.
I don't know why I was charged so much for an underwhelming meal that contained canned green beans and dry potatoes, but it is fair to say that I won't visit this place again. There were also some suspicious looking cupcakes just sitting on the counter...
Read moreWas invited to the quaint, adorable, and inviting atmosphere of Frannie's Vegan Café today by a sweet friend who treated me to lunch... and it was wonderful!
Besides the food being super fresh and healthy it was tasty and fun too.
How is food fun? Here it just is, especially if you are new to vegan food. The fun comes from stepping out of the box, trying something new and seeing how it compares to food you are otherwise used to.
Frannie's has a welcoming atmosphere that's coupled with a homey kitchen and cool decor. It felt like being on vacation in a new town when stepping inside with an urban meets country vibe.
For added fun, I has a patron pick out my meal, which was the jackfruit Bar B Que sandwhich with a sideof carrots and seasoned potatoes.
The gluten free lemon and blueberry cupcake hit the sweets craving spot too!
It was great leaving satiated and not stuffed or too full, which I attribute to the quality of the food prepared there.
Definitely worth...
