Clothesline — Local services in Johnson City

Normally we get great deals, and a fair price for the clothes we drop off. My daughter took 9 bags in on 8/11/17, mostly brand name, very nice clothes in GREAT condition, and not one item was kept. The last 2 bags weren't even gone through. I realize there may just not be a need; however, when my daughter was walking back toward the front of the store from the back end and getting ready to load bags, she saw her shirt laying on top of some other bags after being told they weren't keeping anything. She asked for her shirt back and was repeatedly told that wasn't her shirt and those weren't her bags. She even had a picture of herself in the shirt that they repeatedly refused to return. She was told someone dropped those clothes off earlier and they weren't hers. She knew with 100% certainty those were her clothes but the employee argued and refused to return them. After somewhat of an ordeal she was able to get our bags of clothes back just because she was persistent and wouldn't back down. She was treated very poorly and the employee was extremely rude and hateful, and argumentative. Not sure if they tried to keep clothes for themselves, keep clothes for the store and not pay her for them, or if there was just truly a mix up with the bags of clothes, but no wrong was ever admitted to by the employee and no apologies were given. My daughter drove the first time, not knowing the hours for them to look at her clothes and the lady cut her off at the door and it was too late to come back point blank. Round 2 today, she took her items and told her it would be about an hour before they would be able to give her a price. Well we went back and she said she was just starting it and would need 10 minutes. She waits 15 minutes and goes back in. The lady told her she could only accept 1 shirt of all items, that they don't accept long sleeves off season, or scarves ever. She could have taken 2 minutes when we first got there and to glance through them to say that. We were there almost 2 hours for this woman to once again be rude and short with my daughter. We have shopped there a few times, but after today we will not be giving any business to them nor will we recommend the business. What a horrible experience and attitude to have towards people. Plain language for what you will accept would be extremely helpful as well as a hint of politeness when working with the public. Side note about the parking lot... It is a small space that could cause an accident as there is barely space to park...

I go here all the time. I absolutely love it. Anytime I bring anything in they take almost everything I have. I have never once walked out of there with less than $80...the last time I went about a month ago I made $254..Plato's closet has never bought a single item from me. Ever!...Clothesline pays wayyyyyyyy more than anyone else does too. Some of these reviews crack me up. The point of this store is to buy "gently used NAME BRAND clothing"...if you take crap in there you got from Walmart chances are slim to none that they will buy that. Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister..those brands are worth it to them. They are not going to give you $5 for a shirt you paid $5 or less for that's just not how it works. Plus if you make your clothing look much more presentable when you take it in the more they will buy. I iron and fold everything I take. Its doubtful if you throw it all in a trash bag it will get looked at. I mean personally I wouldn't. But all this is just from my personal experience.
