I canceled a delivery, and subsequently was told not to call and order Anymore food after they messed up the order. Is that what you tell all of your customers when they say they no longer want the delivery? 30 minutes after the order was placed they call, I miss the call as I'm working. Finally, 20 minutes later I call back and they say they didn't get the credit card number "written" down correctly. I guess this place makes a Habit of "writing" down credit card numbers. At that point we're an hour in so tell him I no longer wanted the delivery. He replies, don't ever call and place an order here again. Are you all in the business of telling customers not to ever call your establishment again when they cancel a delivery because of YOUR error? Terrible business practice, and pretty sure it's against the law to "write down" credit card numbers and leave them out in the open. Not One person or customer deserves this type of behavior or response. I finally had a chance to let the owner know today what took place yesterday, and from the moment he said hello, the utter and complete unproffesional, combative behavior when I disclosed the story to him(Simms Umberger the owner), I was completely taken back. I've never seen such egregious behavior, the first I've seen in my 43 years of dealing with any business or business owner. His response, "You're the First person in 20 years who has complained we write credit card numbers down.", and "I don't care if you ever order from here again!" Well, my complaint will move forward as he acknowledges it's a practice he condones, and also tries to state in a text we were Both to blame, as if it couldn't get Any worse. A couple of exchanged texts later his whole tone changes and he attempts to apologize, but too little too late. He had backed their story, his "buddies from high school" from the moment he said hello, because customers do Not come first if a mistake has been made. What a...
Read moreLet me start by saying we have been faithful customers of Simms since August 2018. We supported Simms pizza throughout the pandemic, ordering here at least once, if not twice per week. The service used to be impeccable. We love the people of Simms and have had nothing but good to say about them. The people were extremely nice and accommodating for delivery or pickup. We had chosen Simms pizza for any gathering or family function. I am disappointed in the recent turn of customer service and rudeness from one particular employee, who would not state his name, associated with Simms. I want to first mention that I have NEVER been hung up on by ANY employee of a restaurant in my life or been blatantly lied to before by a restaurant when talking to employees. Tonight, 12/08/2021, the “manager” who would not state his name refused to let me schedule a delivery for the end of the night. This is something I used to do routinely. He then provided conflicting information to call back later, however there was no guarantee we could receive delivery at a later time. There was a previous incident that occurred approximately 1 month ago where I called at 8pm for delivery. The same “manager” answered the phone and said “it’s 824 pm by my clock, we are no longer accepting deliveries”. Unfortunately, because this employee I will never spend another dime at Simms, even though we care about local businesses. I would not recommend Simms until this issue is taken care of. I understand staffing is an issue, but I am completely in shock as to how I was treated as a customer tonight. I will not be back to Simms and would recommend that the Simms address this for future business. Unfortunately, every time we have called within the last few months it has felt like an inconvenience to the employees to...
Read moreDisappointing. When we are in town, we normally go to Main Street Pizza when we are in the mood for such a thing. However, we heard a few times that this place was better. We gave it a shot— a hole in the wall pleasantly surprises the taste buds more often than not.
Unfortunately, not this time. We were terribly let down. Mostly because we were under the impression that this place should know better as we heard the owner was from up north. The promise is there— you can tell that they almost know how to make a hell of a pizza, but fall short on execution. The main problem being how watery and flavorless the pizza was. A supreme pizza has a lot of flavors by default due to the many vegetables and meats, but each slice dripped water and flopped like a wet rag. No matter how great a crust is, it cannot overcome sogginess brought on by its toppings. The problem being that their ingredients are frozen for far too long then thrown on the pizza right before it’s made. The freezing process combined with the frozen ingredients not being given the time to thaw before being cooked is what causes a watery mess (the hydration of a vegetable doesn’t get the time to evaporate from room temp thawing process, instead forcing a flash melt of that hydration in the oven and onto your pizza). The lack of flavor is the result of vegetables being frozen in the first place. Where Main Street falls short on imagination or pizza expertise, they make up for by using fresh, local ingredients.
The prices are great, but in line with this part of the country.
Verdict: don’t come here for pizza if you know what good pizza is. You’d prefer Main Street even if it’s not the best you’ve ever had because it isn’t. At least you’ll have more...
