I love Lane Bryant, but this particular store isn’t great. I just shop online now. My first time in there, I was ignored at the cashier desk for awhile, trying to pick up an online order. But I’m definitely one to give second chances. I had found a shirt on the website I liked, but I only had cash, so I went inside. I am disabled and standing/walking is very difficult for me. I went in, grabbed the shirt and went straight to the counter. It took make maybe a minute and a half from the time I walked in to get to the counter. I stood there in terrible pain for about 6 minutes. 2 store associates looked at me multiple times, didn’t come to the counter or even address me to acknowledge my presence. Normally I do online shopping because of my disability, but considering I knew exactly what I was getting and where it was in the store, I didn’t think it would be too bad. I stood there buckled over, holding onto the counter to try to keep myself on my feet with not a single word spoken to me. Finally, one of the girls stopped talking to her friend and came to the counter. I had 2 coupons, I had already tried them online to confirm they could be stacked, bringing my total to $5. The store associate told me that they couldn’t be combined. I explained I had tested it online and it let me combine them. She then asked me to pull up my shopping cart on the website so she could find out how to combine them. I tried, but there was poor cell service and the website wouldn’t load. She suggested to walk to the front of the store and try there. Again, I’m visibly disabled so that wasn’t an attractive idea to me. Nor do I think that the customer should be responsible for showing the associate how to do their job. The store associate then said, “oh wait, I got it to work” and my total showed up on the register as $5. Great! I then realized I had left my cash in the car (not their fault). I considered not bothering because I’d have to walk to my car and back, but a $5 shirt is a good deal, and she confirmed she got the coupons to work, so I felt it was worth it. I went to get the cash, and came right back in. I parked right in front, in handicapped parking, so I was out and right back in. When I came back in, another woman was being serviced in front of me. So again I had to wait a couple minutes in terrible pain. I still continued to stick it out for the deal. Finally, it was my turn again. When I approached the counter, the associate told me she couldn’t combine the coupons. After already confirming she could AND even showing me the $5 total on the register. At this point, I wasn’t happy. I don’t know what happened in the 45 seconds I was away from the counter, but the only reason I decided to push myself to go back to my car for the cash was because she has told me she could combine the coupons. She told me that instead of $5, she could get another coupon to work for $9. At this point, I had already put myself in so much pain and discomfort to get this shirt that I said fine. I handed her my cash and she told me she couldn’t break it to give me change. At this point I said forget it. This was a completely unnecessary back and forth, all over a $5 shirt. I said, this is ridiculous and not worth it. I will never go back into that store. My first 2 visits were awful. It still doesn’t make sense to me that she showed me that the coupons worked and then when I came back with my money, they suddenly didn’t. What should have taken 2-3 minutes tops, turned into a 20 minute fiasco, which is a long time for someone with my disability.
My other gripe is the older woman who works there. She very short and rude. And she’s not plus size at all. I don’t know how you can represent a store when you can’t even model their clothing. Just, nothing about this store is run how normal retailers run. I gave them 2 chances. My sister had a bad experience there too with them griping at her for shopping online instead of in their store when she went in for a pickup order. You’re much better off just shopping online than dealing with...
Read moreI was not impressed with the service from the two employees at this store today 5/17/25 around 12:00pm. The store was busy and these two store associates (the one who rang me up had red hair, I don’t know their names but they both looked special needs) acted as if they were bothered by having to order things online for people and have it shipped to their house. The red haired woman didn’t smile and wasn’t polite, and got irritated with me because she asked for the number of a shirt I wanted on the website, a number that starts with a 6…well I didn’t see any number. Was it too much to ask for her to look up the shirt herself?? She seemed irritated that she had to explain to me that my credit card wouldn’t be charged until it shipped. If you don’t like your job in retail and you don’t like helping customers then get a job in another line of work. I’m a Lane Bryant cardholder (with a huge limit) and this experience didn’t make me want to come back. They need to reopen the store at the Pinnacle in Bristol TN,...
Read moreCame here on 3/30/24 to take advantage of the sale. The good part is that the bras and underwear are always great, and the music playing in the store was awesome. The sales associates were very nice, but the fact that all 3 of them were extremely thin and could not wear any of the clothes in the store made me uncomfortable. Lane Bryant should have associates working there who can represent the brand and who can relate to other plus sized women and our struggles. I don’t really want to talk about plus size fashion with someone who is a size 4. Also a lot of the clothes are kind of old lady style. I bought a shirt without trying it on and unfortunately after I got home, I discovered that the sleeves were HUGE and puffy. It looks like a circus clown costume. It’s hard being plus sized, there just aren’t many options out there as far...
