Diamond Exchange — Local services in Johnson City

I wanted to say this from the bottom of my heart, Diamond Exchange isn't just about making a sale, it's about the people who own the place, the people who work there and the pride they have, not just as a store, but in how they take care of their customers, customers like me..... I've been doing business with them for about 22 years now, at the time, they were located on Market street and transitioning into the place they're at now. I always thought they did amazing work on custom orders, and they're all about coming up with a plan that a customer can afford, never mind about a specific time limit on lay-aways, if you miss a payment, just call them, tell them the truth, and they have no problem extending the time on your layaway. My husband lost his job, he has always been an excellent provider, but times hit hard so I took some items that meant nothing to anyone else, all the other jewelers didn't care a bit about our situation, I even pathetically begged them to please help me, I should have known that all I had to do was just save all the gas, tears and time and just took my stuff to Diamond Exchange, Trey not only listened with so much compassion, but I even saw tears welling up, in his own eyes, without a second thought, he didn't even hesitate and bought my diamond earrings and even gave me more than what I think they were worth. That day Trey saved us from getting our lights truned off, he provided us with another week of food, and even listened to my devastating story. I know this may be too much information for most who will read this, but I wanted everyone to know that when they're dealing with Diamond Exchange, you're not just buying something, you're dealing with honest, loving people who care about their customers. customers they treat like they would family. Diamond Exchange deserves a review. They were absolutely excellent to me. Top jeweler. Two years ago last March (finally getting around to posting this review, sorry realized it was saved in drafts?¿) purchased a loose diamond and began a surprisingly simple and easy process of designing and casting a custom engagement ring for my now wife. The jeweler Trey at Diamond Exchange is the point man and I was refreshed by this that there was no middle man and I was working directly with him. Not many Jewelers like this anymore, where you can walk in the door into the showroom and have a conversation with the jeweler himself about any and everything. I had not lived in the Tri-cities very long, but with a family jeweler retiring back home, I had visited every jeweler in the Johnson City area to little satisfaction. I felt like each of them wanted to push me a direction toward whatever they thought was in. I expressed right away to Trey that I was interested in and what I was not interested in. He was respectful and so helpful, shared with me in my exitement and shared about himself and what he had done what types of things he liked and valued. He had a wide selection of loose stones in house and was also willing to consider trades. DE also had estate rings and a few beautiful select used rings--which for me, for what its worth, is a sign of a good trustworthy jeweler, someone readily acknowledging the beauty taste and value of another jewelers work however eclectic. DE was really reasonable on their prices and valuation of the stones and gold. I am completely satisfied with the deal I made with DE to create a custom piece. Last but not least, the ring was a hit, a beautiful gift and the perfect personality for my wife, but though a nasty life happenstance had one of the prongs seriously damaged. Trey took us right in, fixed and improved the ring right away and had it back to us in the week no extra change just taking care of us. Cannot say enough about Diamond Exchange....

I fell in love with my beauty, (of course)!!

Since then, we've been back for a cleaning and to get it sized. Both visits, my ring was taken care of and fixed correctly. According to the time they quoted us, we shouldn't have received it back for atleast two weeks, due to the fact they were busy and had alot of appointments before us. But, we ended up getting a call three days later by one of the ladies to let us know it was all finished and ready for pick up.

Whenever we got it sized, they took it, measured my finger, told us to give them just a little and they'd have it finsihed.. About two hours later, the ring was all ready, cleaned and shinning beautifully.

We believe the jeweler who crafts all the jewelry is phenomenal, creative, and just all around, an amazing person. But, they all have excellent customer service skills, they are all supportive and really care about finding you the perfect piece for the best price! They are all focused on making sure you leave completely satisfied.
