Easy to underestimate our Lowes store when you have lived “in the big city” but after a year living in JC I am endeared to Lowes. It has some real surprises that keep you coming and the service is so small town good! I’ve bought milk for a dollar (yes Lowes has an App with deals😂). I’ve bought a great Toro lawnmower for less than it would be elsewhere. Generators and heaters are in the aisles. And some things you don’t expect in grocery are here too. You can get really good brioche buns and grass fed hamburgers; 15 pound bags of super hot charcoal for $6. Produce is fresh and this summer the tomatoes were great. (ok iceberg lettuce is an inflationary marker it’s now over $4). But topo Chico and modelo especial are well stocked and good prices. A two pound slab of thick cut bacon for $8 was a real deal. The beef is good and from Texas. And they have Stihl lawn tools and good hardware selection. And there’s a lady who sells her home made tamales in the parking lot in December. Anyway if your former life depended on HEB it will take some adjustment, for sure, and you can still go to MF or FBG for a big shop, cat treats or Newman pizza. But, you can also count on Lowes, and you will love the friendly staff there too. Here’s a big pork chop on the grill from Lowes. It was great. Kinda makes...
Read moreVery confusing when you arrive at this location. You're almost not sure it is a supermarket, but indeed IT IS!! This is because on the outside all one sees are lawnmowers and farm equipment. Parking is very ample, gas station and Dollar General share that location. Gave the supermarket 3 stars for their quality of their fruits and vegetables. Bananas were beyond ripe and apples were actually almost all bruised. There were pre sliced water melons but my wife and I didn't want to take a chance on the possiblity it could be sour when we got home. The store is STILL the ONLY supermarket that was close to our Best West Hotel for that area. Other than that the Market is still a viable store for other useful items like frozen premade foods and canned goods.
PS ...Google has not uploaded any of my photos, which I don't know why?? Find this review also on MY YELP with photos

Read morePrices are a bit high, and the fresh bakery items aren't too safe and definitely don't make it to their best by date before going bad in my experience. But it's convenient and close for items I need that can't wait for a Walmart pickup (which is twice per month). The employees are generally kind and helpful, and the pharmacy is great for the meds they can get in for me. A lot of my specialty drugs can not be filled here in town, so that's a bummer. It's not easy for me to get to Marble for them. The pharmacy employees are always very kind and helpful. The store has ample parking and a few handicapped spots near the entrance. They also have an Ace hardware inside and the pharmacy I mentioned. The store is much smaller than a Walmart or HEB, so it's easy to navigate and get through efficiently. The temperature is always comfortable, and it's always calm and...
