Straight talk, solid 3.9⭐on my first stop. This place is making some solid food but making some serious rookie mistakes in my opinion as a hunter of great burger joints.

-- When you order any type of cheese burger it should never come with the junk shredded plastic cheese you find in a salad bar. A solid slice of cheese that is properly sized to the patty is required!

I found the burger prices slightly high for this roadside setting. They are somewhat offset by the low cost fries but then again why not just include the fries in the price of the burger basket and call it good. The fries are hand cut and were good, think similar to Wendy's but a little thinner and also not oily which is nice.

-- Gimmicky costs for every extra like a simple condiment topping or different type of bun $1-$1.5 each. Please stop this is not California.

Some flies to control. Not the worst Ive seen but simple traps from Rescue work amazing placed 30-40 ft away from where you don't want the flies to go.

++ Staff was friendly and the menu was diverse and there are daily specials. Plenty of seating outdoors and some indoors ( I sat indoors). Food came out reasonably quick. Noise level inside was decent.

++ Buns tasted fresh and were properly toasted without being greasy all over.

  • Burger patty is a large portion and was medium finished moist but not dripping wet while eating (that is good). Beef was fresh and did actually have a noticeable quality beef flavor. Burger could be seasoned a little more and slightly more char / crust. *Maybe would thicken up the pickle slices to hang with the sizable patty.

This place is definitely worth a stop and I believe can be greater with a little bit of effort. Thank you to the owner for the response...

One of the best guac burgers I've had to date. Curly fries were done well... Oil temp was just right. On a busy night, I'm sure this place is hopping with plenty of outside seating. Inside is pretty tight. Go for the food, but for customer service.....

On 3/29/23 at 7pm, the young lady taking our orders did not have any excitement or pleasure in serving. We were bothering her. Every question we had was meet with disdain. We sat in the new addition area to eat. Soon after eating, a young man started cleaning the room by stacking chairs. He did this as quietly as he could. Kudos to him even though you could tell he didn't really want to be working. Because I've worked food industry, i know what it's like to wait for customers to clear an area so cleaning could begin for closing, so my wife and i gathered our stuff and went outside to allow the young man to do his cleaning. While sitting outside, the young lady from the register had brought out a to go order, and instead of walking over to us, she yells from 50' away that we can't sit there, it's only for reserved guests. Understandable, (we are the only people outside anywhere on the property) but we had come out the side door on the opposite side of the sign saying reserved only. The only sign we could see was a big 4 x 8 orange sign with the company name and logo. When asking why we couldn't sit there, she responded very rudely, and said go sit on the other side of the building. Better service and a chance at a return customer would be to politely walk over and explain the seating rules.

Well, treat your customers right and respectfully they will return..... Otherwise, lose business.

Great food, too bad the front customer service person is a HUGE turn off and...

I finally stopped in for a burger after two years of driving past while on deliveries. Plenty of parking, especially if you have a trailer on your truck like I do.

I had their half pound burger and fries. The fries were thin and dry. There weren't bad, just not all that great. But the Fat Boy burger, Oh Man! A large half pound of medium rare beef cooked, seasoned, and dripping perfection on a soft fresh bun capable of handling the weight. They use fresh veggies, enough lettuce, large slices of tomato, sweet red onion, and pickles smothered with grated cheddar, mustard, and mayo.

This fat boy couldn't eat it all. That burger is so good I thumped my own forehead for not dropping in sooner. This is the best burger I've had anywhere in the 10 surrounding counties at least! I deliver tractors all over Central Texas and Northeast Texas and I eat lots of hamburgers. I'm not kidding, you have to give' em a try. You won't regret it. The fries need work though and the only reason for 4-stars. For a burger of this caliber you gotta serve it with steak fries.

I promise, you will...

I love the Duce, I always get the Jr. Perfect size and my son gets the Sr. Yesterday when I ordered someone there thought a Sr and a Jr meant add an extra patty to my Sr and just not make the Jr. After a 25 min ride to try and get my order corrected, I was told I ordered wrong and was trying to get something free. 45 dollars for 3 burgers, 2 orders of onion rings and an appetizer. They messed up. Treated me with no respect and threw my burger at me. I asked for names but nobody would tell me who they were. I am going to see if I can talk to the owner today. Small town businesses need to be better than this. I always try to buy local, but Fat Boys lost me and anyone else I can take with me.

Stopped by Johnson City's Fat Boy Burgers for lunch. Plenty of parking. Found a table right away. Waited in the order line, but it was fairly quick. We ordered cheese burgers, a patty melt, the curly fries, chili cheese tots and sweet potato waffle fries. The burger looked so good, we were hungry but when we bit into the burgers, our family all agreed that all the meats had no seasoning. Which is fine if you're not used to seasoning your food, we just wished it had more flavor for the prices we paid. Everything else was great. Kids loved the chili cheese tots, I loved the sweet potato fries, I did ask for ranch to dip my sweet potato fries in and it was excellent.
