Blacktail Family Foods — Local services in Kalispell

Our family have always shopoed at Blacktail grocery since it opened as we enjoy the convenience of a 'local' grocery who employs folks from the community where I have owned a home for 61 years. Sure it might be a little more expensive for this and that but do you really want to go to Kalispell and leave this beautiful place just to save a few bucks, then there is your time and gas and real exposure to many.others during this pandemic. However, the checker whose bandana is loosely fitted and does nothing to protect me is unacceptable. When I suggested it was of no value to his health, he replied 'I am obligated to wear it'. My point? His attitude does nothing good for my health nor other shoppers. And the reality is I feel unsafe in my little hometown grocery. There are few reasons to not wear a mask, period. The CDC suggests the only pardon that is not a fraudulent claim why one should not wear a mask medically speaking is if you have a serious lung disease that requires full oxygen to live. Please, we are under a mask mandate because we care about others. This isn't about your supposed 'obligation'. Do what's best for...

Right in the heart of beautiful Lakeside Montana. Closest other grocery is about 15 miles. Staff is helpful and friendly. Prices, to me are not out much out of line than the larger grocery stores. Produce is fresh, meat is fresh. They have a deli where you can order and eat. We make sure to shop at Blacktail Family Foods regularlly. We believe you should shop locally as much as possiple. We want to keep them in business. Who wants to travel 30 miles round trip to pick up a sack of flour? 😊 Next, ask me about Sliters Hardware....

This is a smaller local market that doesn't have a ton of variety yet has a little bit of everything. The people working the deli are delightful. Surprisingly, the produce here, especially the grapes is pretty good. The prices are a little higher than a market in Kalispell, but I understand the cost of convenience. My only caveat is that sometimes the cost of things out of the deli is especially high. It surprising what $10 doesn't get you from there on...
